In short. Among them, each of the ten major non-virtues such as killing leads to rebirth in hell; each of the ten medium ones leads to rebirth as a hungry ghost; each of the ten minor ones leads to rebirth as an animal, as stated in the Sutra of Determining the Basis. However, in the Sutra of the Ten Grounds, the results of the small and medium non-virtues are reversed. Secondly, even if one is reborn as a human from a lower realm, there will still be residual effects, as it is said: "Killing leads to a short life, Extreme harm leads to many calamities, stealing leads to a lack of wealth, adultery leads to many enemies, lying leads to slander, divisive speech separates friends, harsh speech leads to hearing unpleasant things, idle talk leads to untrustworthy words, covetousness destroys hope in the mind, harmful intent bestows fear, and wrong views lead to bad views." Thus it is said. Thirdly, the harm that occurs to the external environment is: "The external environment is small and causes much harm, Dust accumulates, odors are foul, there are high and low places, there are salty and alkaline lands, and fruits are scarce, small, or nonexistent." Thus it is said. The strength of virtuous actions varies in magnitude, and the former can be inferred. The ripening result is: small, medium, and large virtuous actions lead to rebirth as humans, desire realm gods, and gods of the upper two realms, respectively. The result corresponding to the cause and the dominating result are the opposite of non-virtuous actions and can be analogized. The difference between these actions in terms of projection and completion is: actions that project into happy realms are virtuous actions, and actions that project into unhappy realms are non-virtuous actions, but there is no certainty in the completing factor. Even in happy realms, there may be incomplete limbs, ugly appearances, short lifespans, many diseases, poverty, etc., which are caused by non-virtuous actions. And there are also animals and hungry ghosts who have abundant wealth, which is caused by virtuous actions. Therefore, with virtuous actions as the cause of projection, there are two situations: completion by virtuous actions and completion by non-virtuous actions. With non-virtuous actions as the cause of projection, there are two situations: completion by non-virtuous actions and completion by virtuous actions, making a total of four situations. Among the two situations of definitely experiencing the result and not definitely experiencing the result, definitely experiencing the result refers to actions done intentionally and accumulated. Not definitely experiencing the result refers to actions done intentionally but not accumulated. The difference between action and accumulation is that action refers to actions performed intentionally or after thinking, with body and speech. Accumulation refers to actions other than the ten types of actions done in dreams, etc. Non-accumulation refers to

Like doing in a dream, etc., these are the ten aspects. From the perspective of definitely experiencing, there are three types based on the time of experiencing the result: Experiencing in the present life means experiencing the result of that action in this life. Experiencing after being born means experiencing the result in the second life. Experiencing in other instances means experiencing it in the third life and beyond. One should also contemplate these situations well. Second, contemplating the suffering of samsara is divided into two parts: contemplating the eight sufferings and contemplating the three general sufferings. The first is: birth, old age, sickness, death, separation from loved ones, encountering unpleasant things, not finding what one desires, and the aggregates of appropriation are suffering. It is crucial to realize that the nature of the lower realms is suffering, and even in the heavens, there is no happiness. In general, all of samsara is of the nature of suffering alone. Lord Maitreya said: Just as there is no fragrance in impure things, there is no happiness in the five realms. Its suffering is always like the touch-born of fire, weapons, salt, and so on. Therefore, the main sufferings are eight: First, birth is associated with suffering, birth is associated with taking a bad state, birth has become a place of suffering, birth has become a place of affliction, birth is the nature of separating unwillingly, so it has five branches of suffering. Second, old age has five branches: the body deteriorates, strength deteriorates, the senses deteriorate, enjoyment deteriorates, and life completely deteriorates. Third, sickness has five branches: the nature of the body changes, pain and discomfort increase, one cannot enjoy pleasant things, one must rely on unpleasant things, and one is close to death. Fourth, death has five branches: separation from the four perfections of relatives, attendants, wealth, and oneself, and experiencing intense pain and discomfort at the time of death. Fifth, the suffering of encountering unpleasant things has five aspects: merely encountering someone like an enemy causes pain and discomfort; they inflict punishments, etc., becoming a place of fear; fear of bad talk; fear of a terrible death; and fear of falling into the lower realms after death due to violating the Dharma.
