Even hearing, remembering, reciting, and visualizing, if they become causes for generating fear, then what need is there to mention experiencing the unbearable ripened fruits? It is also said: 'If in this place, in one day, one is fiercely stabbed by three hundred short spears, what kind of suffering would that be? That cannot even come close to the small suffering of hell.' So it is said. Hungry ghosts also have many sufferings such as hunger and thirst. In the realm of hungry ghosts, due to the lack of desire, there arises constant and unceasing suffering. The suffering caused by hunger, thirst, cold, heat, fatigue, and fear is extremely unbearable. So it is said. Animals also have sufferings such as eating each other. In the place of animal birth, there are also various sufferings such as killing, binding, and beating. For those who abandon peace and virtue, eating each other is extremely unbearable. So it is said. Therefore, one should remember death and contemplate the suffering of falling into the lower realms after death, thereby turning away from this life and generating the mind to seek the benefit of the next life. Second, turning away from samsara is divided into two points: contemplating the cause and effect of happiness and suffering; contemplating the faults of samsara. The first point is further divided into two points: generally contemplating karma and its results; specifically contemplating the heaviness, lightness, etc. The first point is: not deceiving, growing rapidly, not encountering what has not been done, and not wasting what has been done, this is the law of karma. In general, whether it is an ordinary being or a noble one, all feelings of comfortable happiness, even the happiness that arises from the cool breeze for beings born in hell, all arise from previously accumulated virtuous deeds, and happiness does not arise from non-virtuous deeds. All feelings of tormenting suffering, even those that arise in the continuum of an Arhat, arise from previously accumulated non-virtuous deeds, and suffering does not arise from virtuous deeds. As it is said in the Ratnavali: 'All sufferings arise from non-virtue, likewise, all bad migrations are the same. All good migrations arise from virtue, and all births are happy.' That karma also has four characteristics: the result of karma is definite, it grows rapidly, one does not encounter what has not been done, and what has been done is not wasted. The first point is: the result of happiness and suffering

Various kinds of sins and mutual mixtures, or not arising from inconsistent causes such as causelessness, lords, and sovereigns, but from the general collection of virtuous and non-virtuous actions, the general collection of happiness and suffering, and the various differences of happiness and suffering, also from the various differences of the two actions, without the slightest confusion, the karmic results that arise separately, to be certain of this, is what Buddhists call the correct view, praised as the basis of all white dharmas. Second, from small virtuous actions, extremely great happiness results, and from small non-virtuous actions, extremely great suffering results, so the ratio of internal cause and effect growth is not found in external cause and effect. As it says in the Compendium: "Even if a small sin is committed, the next world will become a great fear, it will cause great harm, like poison entering the body. Even if a small merit is done, the next world will bring great happiness, it will also accomplish great meaning, like the abundant ripening of grains." Third, if one does not accumulate the actions that become the cause of experiencing happiness and suffering, then one will never experience the results of happiness and suffering. The Teacher said that those who enjoy the fruits of accumulating countless aeons of merit, although they do not need to accumulate all the causes, they must accumulate a part. Fourth, the virtuous and non-virtuous actions that are done will produce agreeable and disagreeable results. As it says in the scriptures: "Actions, even after hundreds of thousands of kalpas, will not be lost, and when the conditions are gathered, they will ripen into results for sentient beings." Second, to think specifically about the differences of heavy and light, etc.: Heavy and light, and having intention, basis, object, and power, produce the results of maturation, similarity, and dominance. Among them, the entrance of actions of good conduct and misconduct is determined to be three, although all the good and non-good of the three doors are not necessarily included in the ten paths of action, but the Buddha summarized the outline or rough, major basis of sins of good and non-good into the ten black paths of action, and seeing that if these are abandoned, the extremely important points will also be summarized into ten, so he proclaimed the ten white paths of action. As it says in the Treasury: "After summarizing the outline from that."
