If you do not use this precious human body to diligently practice the causes of higher realms and definite goodness day and night, it is much more foolish than returning empty-handed from the Isle of Jewels. Third, contemplate the difficulty of obtaining it. From the perspective of cause, it is difficult to obtain: In general, even to obtain just a good rebirth, one must perform a single pure virtue such as keeping the precepts; especially to obtain a complete leisure and opportunity, one needs to take pure precepts as the basis, with generosity and so on as companions, and connect with pure aspirations, etc., requiring many roots of virtue. It seems that very few people cultivate such a cause, so considering this, the general result of a good rebirth, especially the difficulty of obtaining leisure and opportunity, is contemplated. From the perspective of result, it is difficult to obtain: In general, it is said in the basic scriptures that dying and transmigrating from bad and good rebirths to bad rebirths is like the dust of the great earth, and transmigrating from there to good rebirths is only like the dust on the fingernails. Therefore, in relation to the dissimilar bad rebirths, even just a good rebirth seems rare, and in relation to the similar good rebirths, obtaining a body with special benefits is even rarer. From the perspective of example, contemplate the difficulty of obtaining: Shantideva said: Like a blind turtle inserting its neck into the hole of a yoke floating on the vast ocean, it is extremely difficult to obtain a human body. In addition, one should use many examples such as the stars of the day and the udumbara flower to gain certainty. Second, contemplate impermanence, divided into two: contemplating death as not staying long in this world, and contemplating how things change in other worlds. First, contemplate death. Death is certain, when death is uncertain, and at the time of death, nothing but the Dharma is beneficial, these are the three fundamental points. There is no room for reversal, no possibility of increase, no opportunity for delay. The time is uncertain, the conditions are many, and the body is fragile. Relatives, body, and possessions cannot be taken away, and a decision must be made. Combine these nine reasons to remember death. Contemplate death and impermanence, because the sign of birth proves death, so it is certain to die no matter what. It is uncertain whether one is old or young, and the signs of death indicate when death is uncertain. At the time of death, nothing but the Dharma is beneficial, and this is proven by the scriptures, these are the three fundamental points. And each point should be combined with three aspects.

Therefore, the Lord of Death will definitely come, and there is no way to stop it by any means. Life does not increase, and the days and nights that decrease life exist moment by moment. Even when alive, there is no time to complete all the Dharma and worldly affairs that one wants to do. Death suddenly descends, these are the three reasons why death is certain. In other continents, the lifespan is mostly fixed, but the lifespan of the people of Jambudvipa is uncertain. There are many causes of death, such as internal diseases and external spirits, and being alive itself is a process of going towards death, so it is unreliable. The body is as fragile as a bubble, and even a small injury can take life, so there are three reasons why one does not know when one will die. At the time of death, even if there are hundreds and thousands of relatives, friends, and attendants, not one can be taken away. Even the body that was born together and cherished must be abandoned like earth and stones. Even if there is immeasurable wealth and possessions, one cannot take even a needle with them, so these are of no help at the time of death. Only the Dharma can help, these are the three reasons. Combining these nine reasons is to remember death. The second is that after death, one will be reborn in two places. Thinking about these, one should turn one's mind away from this life. Like this, it is certain that one will die quickly, so there is no time to stay in this life, and after death, one does not cease to exist, but must take rebirth. Moreover, there is no other place to be reborn except for the two places, so one will be reborn in a good or bad realm. Moreover, one has no autonomy and is a slave of karma, so one will be reborn as one is led by black and white karma. Like this, if I am reborn in a bad realm, what will I become? Thinking like this about the suffering of the bad realms. Nagarjuna said: The extremely hot and cold hells should be remembered like a single day. The hungry ghosts tormented by hunger and thirst should also be remembered. Look at and remember the animals filled with the suffering of ignorance. Abandon their causes and practice the causes of happiness. The human body of Jambudvipa, which is difficult to obtain, when you obtain it, you must completely cut off the causes of the bad realms. So it is said. Moreover, in hell there is immeasurable suffering, mainly due to heat and cold. The noble Nagarjuna said: Seeing the painted hell and
