Whether virtuous or non-virtuous, the ten paths of action are taught. Furthermore, the Vinaya-vibhanga also states: Guard your speech, restrain well with your mind, do not commit non-virtuous deeds with your body, and if you cultivate these ten paths of action well, you will attain the path spoken by the righteous. Thus it is said. The ten paths of action are widely known, so they are not discussed in detail here, and they have already been briefly mentioned above. The differences in their weight are: Based on the ground, six ways of being heavier are taught: Manifestation is when karma is motivated by intense intention, either with the three poisons or without the three poisons. Habituation is when both virtuous and non-virtuous actions have been habitually relied upon for a long time and performed many times. Nature is that among the seven of body and speech, the latter is heavier than the former, and among the three of mind, the former is heavier than the latter. Basis is benefiting or harming beings such as the Buddha, Dharma, Sangha, and Lama. Being determined in one direction of the unfavorable is to take up non-virtuous actions for as long as one lives, without doing even one virtuous deed. Eliminating the unfavorable is abandoning the non-virtuous side, being free from attachment, and engaging in virtuous actions. The Suhrllekha also states: Constant, manifest attachment, and without antidote, actions arising from a basis possessing the chief qualities, the five virtuous and non-virtuous are great, strive to practice virtue from them. Thus it is said. Among them, the basis possessing qualities such as the Three Jewels and the basis of benefiting such as parents are divided into two, so there are five. Actions with power are four, namely, being powerful in terms of field, intention, support, and object. The first is the Three Jewels, the Lama, and similar parents, etc. For these, even if there is no strong intention and a small benefit or harm is done, great merit and demerit will result. In particular, Bodhisattvas are extremely powerful fields of virtue and non-virtue. For example, some people get angry and imprison all sentient beings in the ten directions in a dark prison, but it is better to turn their backs on the Bodhisattva in anger and say, 'I will not look at this evil person,' which will generate countless sins. And destroying and burning stupas as numerous as the sands of the Ganges

If one generates anger and harmful thoughts towards a Bodhisattva and speaks unpleasant words, the sin is great. It is also said that the field for accumulating merit is similarly supreme. Secondly, in the "Ratnarashi Sutra," it says: If all the beings of the three thousand worlds each build stupas of the Buddha as large as Mount Meru, and for countless eons, they attend to them with all kinds of care, it is said that the merit is greater for a Bodhisattva who, without being separated from the mind of omniscience, merely discards a single flower. Similarly, one should understand the differences in intention regarding the superior and inferior of what is to be obtained, and the benefit of oneself and others, etc. One should also understand it in terms of the intensity and duration of the intention. In terms of misdeeds, the stronger and longer the duration of the afflicted mind, the greater the power. Among them, anger is extremely powerful. As it is said in the "Bodhicharyavatara": "The merit accumulated over a thousand eons, such as generosity and offerings to the Sugatas, all virtuous deeds, are destroyed by a single instance of anger." That is to say, acting equally with Brahma, and being angry with the sons of the Buddhas, are said to be very serious. Thirdly, even a small lump of iron sinks to the bottom, but the same iron made into a vessel, even if heavy, floats on the surface. Similarly, the sins committed by the unwise and the wise are said to be heavy and light. That is to say, for the wise who regret their previous actions, restrain themselves in the future, do not conceal their sins, and do good as a remedy, the sin is said to be lighter. If they do not do these things, but knowingly engage in them with a contemptuous attitude, then for those who consider themselves wise, the sin is heavy. In doing good, the wise who know the key points, those who possess vows, and those who possess the special qualities of samadhi, the differences in benefits will gradually increase. Fourthly, in giving charity to sentient beings, the charity of Dharma and the practice of offering to the Buddhas are far superior to material charity and offerings. Through these examples, others should also be understood. Through these paths of action, the results of maturation, the results of similarity to the cause, and the results of dominance will be produced. Firstly, each of the ten paths of action relies on the three root poisons of attachment, aversion, and ignorance in their great, medium, and small degrees, thus producing three results.
