And to accomplish, to purify from adventitious defilements, to accomplish the naturally abiding lineage, and to obtain the marks and signs, to accomplish, and to obtain the Buddha's dharmas, to accomplish powers and so forth, that is what it means. Among these, the first four emptinesses are common to the Hearers and Solitary Realizers, and the latter four are considered unique to the Great Vehicle. In order to understand this, Bodhisattvas strive to practice. Thus it is said. Or, for that and that purpose, one accomplishes that and that emptiness. For example, if one does not understand that samsara is emptiness, one becomes weary and abandons samsara. Here, for the naturally abiding lineage, it is self-nature emptiness; for the good marks, it is self-characteristic emptiness; for the qualities of the Buddha-ground, it is the dharma-nature of the basis of emptiness of all dharmas. This is a distinction that differs from the view of the self-emptiness school. The way of how it is empty is: in terms of person and dharma, the apprehended and apprehender are empty in other-nature. The two categories of summary are: the emptiness of no-thing and the emptiness of the self-nature of no-thing. These two are also distinguished by opposites. From the aspect of negating the imputed dharmas and person to be negated, it is the emptiness of no-thing; from the aspect of the existence of the dharma of dharma-nature and the thing of person in the wake of negating the object to be negated, it is established as the emptiness of the self-nature of no-thing. Although these two are not independent, self-sufficient emptinesses, it is necessary to establish them by eliminating the two extremes of superimposition and denigration for each object of emptiness. Therefore, it is to be known that these two must be pervasive to all fourteen emptinesses. The two extremes refer to superimposing the existence of the imputed dharmas and the thing of person, and denigrating the non-existence of the dharma of dharma-nature and the thing of person. Thus it is said. Fifth, the main text, analyzing the two types of selflessness, is divided into two: stating the necessity of teaching selflessness; actually analyzing selflessness. The first is: cutting off the obstacles to seeing, the ten kinds of distracting thoughts, the antidote is selflessness.

There are two types. The obstacle to directly seeing emptiness is only the ten types of distracting thoughts. As stated in the Condensed Meaning of the Eight Thousand (Verse Prajnaparamita Sutra): 'The mind's distraction is of ten kinds; because the mind is distracted to other things, therefore, children do not have the fortune to accomplish the wisdom of non-duality.' It is said. The antidote to eliminate those thoughts is the wisdom that directly realizes the twenty or sixteen emptinesses. In short, these can be summarized into two

It is merely so, but things are not established by their own nature, so when thinking about that, it should be refuted with reason. Third, the reason for refuting it is: To obstruct the root of the two obscurations - the cause of self-grasping. Such clinging is the root of the two obscurations - the cause of self-grasping. As it is said in the Ratnavali: "As long as there is clinging to the aggregates, there is self-grasping. If there is self-grasping, there is karma. And from that, there is birth." Moreover, it is also the main factor of the obscuration of knowledge. As it is said in the Uttaratantra: "The conceptualization of the three spheres is considered the obscuration of knowledge." Therefore, those who wish to abandon the two obscurations and attain liberation and omniscience must abandon the clinging to things. And it must also be abandoned by blocking the true existence of objects. As it is said in the Catuhsataka: "If one sees the selflessness of objects, then the seed of existence will be cut off." And as it is said in the Pramanavarttika: "Without refuting this object, it is not possible to abandon it." Fourth, the way each philosophical system understands it is: Although it is not completely present in the Vaibhashika and Sautrantika schools, it is established on a part of phenomena. Since nothing is found by analyzing with knowledge, establishing the meaning of non-reality is the common rule of this school. It is accepted that all schools that claim to have a coarse selflessness of phenomena have it, because even non-Buddhists have it, as explained in the Madhyamakalankara and other texts. Although it suppresses the coarse obscuration of knowledge that is contrary to it, it is not a view that transforms into the path of omniscience. Because merely becoming accustomed to it, it is impossible to directly see the selflessness of phenomena, and it is also separated from the roots of virtue that are in accordance with liberation. Furthermore, the Samkhya school acknowledges the appearance of external objects as mind, and believes that when the mind dissolves into its own nature, the duality of subject and object disappears. Although the Vaibhashika and Sautrantika schools do not explain that the selflessness of phenomena is established on all phenomena, it is necessary to have a part of it because it is explained that it is established on a part of phenomena. That is to say, in the treatises of the Vaibhashika school, coarse external objects are considered unreal.
