Here, ultimate truth exists, while others are conventional truth. They are considered to be the characteristics of self and generality. As such, that which can function in the ultimate sense, like a pot or a pillar, is ultimate truth. That which cannot function in the ultimate sense, like space, the generality of a pot, or the generality of a pillar, is conventional truth. In short, they consider both the existence of self-characteristics and the existence of general characteristics to be there. Existence is considered to be truth, which is the view of the Sutra School. Here, ultimate truth, impermanence, entity, conditioned phenomena, and self-characteristics are of the same meaning. Conventional truth, permanence, non-substantial phenomena, unconditioned phenomena, and general characteristics are of the same meaning, as some later scholars have said. The appearance of dualistic grasping and grasper, as object and subject, and establishing non-dualistic awareness, is the Mind-Only School's view. The object and subject that appear as dualistic grasping and grasper are conventional truth, and only the awareness free from dualistic grasping is established as ultimate truth, which is the view of the Mind-Only School. As stated in the 'Compendium of the Essence of Wisdom': 'There is no part, even subtle particles do not exist, separate appearances are also without object, experience is like a dream, liberated from grasping and grasper, consciousness exists in the ultimate sense, the scriptures of the Yogacara School, those who have reached the other shore proclaim this.' Furthermore, if applied to the three natures, the completely imputed is the conventional nature, because it is not substantial and is merely established by designation. The dependent is the ultimate nature in terms of name and the conventional in terms of name, because if analyzed by reasoning, it is truly existent, and it obscures the realization of suchness. The thoroughly established is the ultimate nature, because it becomes the object of the wisdom of the noble ones. Appearances are established as conventional like illusions, not established in the ultimate sense, like space, is the view of the Svatantrika School. All appearances are established as conventional, like illusory horses and elephants, which is conventional truth. Nothing is established in the ultimate sense, like space, which is the ultimate truth accepted by the Svatantrika School. As stated in the 'Destruction of Illusion': 'With object is conventional, in the ultimate sense, object and subject are all liberated.' The classification of conventional truth in this school is as mentioned above.

Thus. The conventional truth established by conceptual imputation is established following the worldly expressions. The Prasangika Madhyamaka, which is free from elaboration and transcends thought and expression, is that all things imputed by conceptual thought, such as the speaker, the spoken, the thinker, and the thought, are conventional truths, following the way the world speaks of them. The nature that is free from elaboration and transcends all thought and expression is the ultimate truth, which is the view of the Prasangika school. Because it transcends the establisher and the established, the prover and the proven, it cannot be established as something to be realized. However, when wisdom arises that accords with the ultimate truth, it is said that the ultimate truth has been realized. As Chandrakirti said, "When wisdom arises that accords with emptiness, it is said that emptiness has been realized, but emptiness itself is not something to be realized." For example, realizing the nature of space is like space itself becoming inseparable from wisdom. Here, the omniscient Longchen Rabjam says in his commentary on "Mind at Rest": If we clearly distinguish according to the key instructions, we can only distinguish the realm of phenomena as the object. These appearing aspects are like illusions, mirages, and reflections of the moon in water. Because they appear but have no inherent existence, they are called conventional truths. The Sutra Requested by Kashyapa says: "Just as in the center of a clear mirror, the reflection of a face appears, so know, Kashyapa, that all phenomena are without inherent existence." Therefore, ordinary people see appearances as truly real, but yogis do not see them as more real than dreams. They are vague and indistinct, appearing to exist when not examined, but when examined, they are known to be nonexistent. Therefore, it is called realizing the conventional truth, which means that one is not harmed by appearances. When one is skilled in this, one can move unhindered through these appearances and accomplish various siddhis such as walking. Because one does not affirm anything, the very moment of appearance is without inherent existence, and one does not affirm the reality of otherness. Thus, one understands the truth and attains the wisdom of the noble ones. Even when pure lands and so on appear, one does not cling to them as real, and therefore it is called true conventional truth. All conceptual thoughts and appearances with clinging to reality are false conventional truths. All appearances and phenomena without clinging to reality are considered true conventional truths. The ultimate truth is the nature of mind, the reality of no self-existence, and all phenomena.
