First, the root three samayas of Body, Speech, and Mind. These are divided into Outer, Inner, and Secret, each having three aspects. Each of these (nine) is further divided into three, making a total of twenty-seven samayas. First, among the three divisions (Outer, Inner, Secret) of Body Samaya, the outer, inner, and secret aspects of the *Outer Body Samaya* are: sequentially, refraining from taking what is not given, sexual misconduct, and killing. The inner three are: refraining from disparaging parents, vajra siblings, and one's own body; disparaging the Dharma and individuals; and beating, striking, or tormenting one's own body with asceticism. The secret three are: refraining from intending to strike the body of vajra siblings and disparaging ornaments; striking vajra brothers and sisters (male and female) and harming the Guru's consort; and stepping on the Guru's shadow, as well as engaging in unrestrained body and speech actions in front of the Guru. Second, concerning the three divisions (Outer, Inner, Secret) of Speech Samaya, The outer three are: refraining from lying words, divisive speech, and speaking words that harm others (slander). The inner three are: refraining from reviling and slandering those who speak words of Dharma, contemplate the meaning, and practice meditation on the nature of reality (97b). The secret three are: refraining from disparaging and breaking the words of vajra siblings, the mudras of the Guru and those around him, and the speech of the Guru. Third, concerning the three divisions (Outer, Inner, Secret) of Mind Samaya, The outer three are: refraining from harmful intention, covetousness, and wrong views. The inner three are: refraining from unrestrained wrong conduct, wrong meditation involving sinking and agitation and obscurations, and wrong view clinging to eternalism and nihilism. The secret three are: refraining from neglecting the three of view, meditation, and conduct in each session of the day and night; refraining from neglecting the Yidam deity; and refraining from neglecting Guru Yoga and compassion for vajra brothers and sisters. These are the general samayas of Ati (Dzogchen). Second, the four special great samayas are: By contemplating the primordially pure nature, and through the samaya of Trekchöd, realizing that all phenomena of the world and its inhabitants, all appearances and existences, are primordially non-existent, like the eight examples of illusion, thereby liberating attachment to the reality of appearances. By cultivating unsupported and boundless awareness, unconstrained by the fetters of mental grasping, appearances and designations are liberated into Dharmata (reality). Based on spontaneously accomplished nature, and through the samaya of Thögal, the self-luminous five lights spontaneously accomplished, the four appearances...

Not parting from this practice, it is determined that Buddhahood is naturally achieved, thus the mind seeking results from elsewhere is reversed. Whatever discursive thoughts, feelings, and circumstantial appearances arise, they are all primordially pure wisdom, thus the ultimate stability of the primordial nature of phenomena is attained at its exhausted ground. 3. Thirdly, regarding the explanation of the method of confessing transgressions, there are two: 1. The nature of transgressions; and 2. The method of remedy. 1. Firstly: Great transgression, root and branch, accompanying transgression, incidental transgression, these five. If unconfessed, undesirable things all arise, and one is born in Avīci hell. The types of transgressions that have expired and decayed (98a) are as mentioned above. Furthermore, in the *General Sutra of Unified Intent* (Spgy-mdo Dgongs-'dus), among the five types of transgressions mentioned, the great transgression or complete transgression refers to engaging in actions with strong defilements towards extremely sacred objects, or it occurring repeatedly, and also cases of expired and decayed transgressions, and so on. The two, root transgression and branch transgression, refer to those. Accompanying transgression is the fault that accompanies transgression. Incidental transgression is the fault that arises from pleasing others. In this way, all those vows that have been explained and received should be protected without transgression. If a transgression definitely occurs, it is extremely important to immediately perform the confession ritual properly, as described in the tantras, scriptures, and oral instructions. If unconfessed, various undesirable things will arise in this life. In the next life, one will be born into the great Avīci Vajra Hell, and it is said that there will be no liberation until the sky perishes. From the *Candra-guhya-tilaka Tantra* (Moon Secret Bindu Tantra): When vows and commitments are transgressed, Buddhas and Bodhisattvas, Do not bestow blessings. Incense and flowers, and so on, Even if offered, will not be accepted. By illness, poison, and enemies, Having been killed, sentient beings will go to hell. Thus it is said. From the *Jñāna-siddhi* (Accomplishment of Wisdom) Tantra: Transgression of vows brings suffering, The body, and likewise the mind, Their qualities will decay. One will quickly die. The suffering of hell after death, For hundreds of thousands of kalpas, Having experienced it, one will transmigrate from that state, And be born into an outcast or low-caste family. One will be born mute or deaf. And so on, it is unanimously stated in many new and old tantric scriptures. 2. Secondly, [the method of remedy] is: Śrāvakas are like clay pots...
