Section of Surplus Offenses: The offense of wandering in a village is: relying on wandering in one's own village or another, exceeding the general monastic meal time. The offense of going to the king's palace at night is: staying in the palace with the king's consorts at night (page 36na). The offense of contempt is: knowingly disregarding the words of instruction when hearing the Sutra of Posadha. The offense of making a needle case is: causing a layperson who is not a relative to make a needle case of valuable quality and then taking it. The offense of making a bed/chair leg is: making a bed/chair leg that is more than one cubit high. The offense of covering with cotton is: deliberately covering the monastic bed/chair with cotton. The offense of a mat exceeding the measure is: possessing a mat that exceeds the prescribed length and width. The offense of covering a sore exceeding the measure, the offense of a large cotton cloth for summer exceeding the measure, and the offense of Dharma robes exceeding the measure—these are the three. These are all of them. These, if engaged in, lead to falling into lower realms, and are purified merely by confession without needing prior abandonment. Therefore, they are called the 'Section of Mere (Confession)'. B4 Fourth, the Section of Restoration/Confession: Taking food from a nun, eating that which was distributed without having been present. (Poetic) Breaking rules and entering a village, eating without having searched in the forest. (Poetic) This is the Section of Restoration/Confession. Meaning: The restoration for taking food from a nun is: a monk begging for food in a village that a non-relative nun has begged for her own alms. The restoration for eating without refusing when something is distributed without one having arrived in order is: When three or more monks are invited as guests by a householder, and a nun arranges the distribution, if the guest (monk) is distributed to from below, not allowing it to be distributed in order from the top, and one eats it without refusing with words like 'distribute it to the one above'. Entering a house having broken a precept is: to a patron who has become destitute of food and wealth, one should give the household precepts, which is given by the act of petition (page 36ba). If it is needed again for leniency, it should also be done by an act. Household precepts

Having received the precepts, Bhikkhus should not beg for alms other than milk products, etc. If they do, they incur this offense. The confession for eating without searching the forest: refers to a Bhikkhu appointed to search a monastery area fraught with danger, who eats by himself outside the pleasure grove (or park) without having searched whether there is danger or not. These four are called “confessions with lamentation” because, when purifying these offenses, one must confess them individually by uttering lamentations. Fifth, the one hundred and twelve categories of minor offenses (Dushkrita / Dukkaṭa) are: Ten for wearing robes, Twenty for conduct, nine for sitting on a mat, Eight for food, twenty-one for eating manner, of the begging bowl, Fourteen for teaching Dharma, twenty-six for practice, three (for...), One for movement; these are the categories of minor offenses. Totaling two hundred and fifty-three. To facilitate their identification, they are arranged into easily understandable verses: First, the ten categories concerning wearing robes: Wear the lower robe evenly, round, neither high nor low. Neither too short and bunched up, nor too long and dragging. Do not let the lower hem hang down to the side like an elephant's trunk. Do not fold it up from above like a palm leaf. Do not let the waist belt protrude from the middle like a pestle. Do not let the waist belt above look like a snake's hood. Never make them uneven, high or low. Also wear the patchwork outer robe and upper robe round. They should be neither too long nor too short. Second, the twenty categories for walking conduct: With mindfulness and clear comprehension, completely restrain body and speech. Wear robes neatly and reduce idle chatter. Do not let eyes wander; look ahead for about a yoke's length. Do not cover the head; do not lift the lower robe. Do not wear the upper robe thrown over both shoulders. Do not walk with both hands crossed in front up to the neck (page 37b indication), Nor with hands crossed behind the nape of the neck. Do not jump or stride; do not walk only on the heels, Nor only on the balls of the feet (chest). Do not walk with hands on hips, or with swaggering arms. Do not bend the body crookedly, or swing arms. Do not turn the head; do not brush shoulders with others. Do not walk with hands clasped together. Third, sitting on a mat...
