Like a general term that appears as... Distinguishing names are the opposite of that. For example, these vases are golden, silver, and copper vases – like a general term that appears with distinct differences from a single basis of distinction. Famous names and non-famous names refer to what is known or not known in a specific place and time. For example, the term "Hastin" (possessing a hand/trunk) is famous for an elephant, but even though a cow also has "hands" (limbs), it is not known by that name. Third, conceptualization (vikalpa) is: Mind and mental factors are conceptualizations, With signs, without signs, defiled, undefiled, etc. The essence of conceptualization is the mind and mental factors. There are two divisions of conceptualization: conceptualization with signs and conceptualization without signs. The first primarily refers to the conceptualizations of mind and mental factors in the desire realm, and those up to the first concentration (dhyāna). The second refers to those from there up to the peak of existence (bhavāgra), and the mind and mental factors during states of fainting and deep sleep. These are not entirely without signs; rather, the term "negation" is applied to the inferior (states). Alternatively, from the two: defiled conceptualizations and undefiled conceptualizations. The first refers to the non-virtuous conceptualizations of the desire realm. The second refers to conceptualizations included in virtuous defiled (sāsrava kuśala), undetermined (avyākṛta), and undefiled (anāsrava). And so on, it can also be divided into three types of conceptualizations: apprehending objects, searching, and individual discrimination. Fourth, Suchness (Tathatā) is: Suchness transcends verbal expression and conceptualization. The ultimate reality (dharmatā) that transcends the realm of verbal expression and mental conceptualization is Suchness. It is exclusively the object of the non-conceptual wisdom of noble ones in meditative equipoise. Fifth, Perfect Wisdom (Samyag-jñāna) is: Path knowledge, meditative equipoise, and subsequent attainment are perfect wisdom, Possessing characteristics such as object and subject, All cognizable objects (jñeya) based (on this) are included here. Path knowledge, transcendent meditative equipoise, and subsequent attainment, which has characteristics of both transcendent and non-transcendent mixed, these are perfect wisdom. Suchness and perfect wisdom, these two are characteristics of object and subject...

Possessing self-nature, the domain of correct knowledge is suchness, and the object-possessor that takes suchness as its object is the definition of correct knowledge. \t\t\tFurthermore, to explain a little more: names and reasons are neither one nor different, thus they cannot be spoken of as self-nature or other-nature. Likewise, suchness and these four dharmas cannot be spoken of as suchness or other-nature. \t\t\tThe definition of the object-possessor of conceptual thought is reason, because reason is the object of conceptual thought, and conceptual thought is the agent acting upon that object. A name is the definition of the basis or ground (207b) from which verbal expressions arise. \t\t\tThat conceptual thought which possesses the characteristic of taking reason as its object, and correct knowledge, both are substantially existent, while names are dependently imputed. \t\t\tThe aspects grasped as names and reasons are substantially existent, while suchness transcends both substantial and imputed existence. \t\t\tThose aspects not grasped as reason, and names, are thoroughly imagined; conceptual thought and correct knowledge both are dependent-arising; suchness is the unchangeable perfectly established nature. \t\t\tHere, the "dharma" in "Five Dharmas" refers to the basis by which the meaning of dharma is understood; alternatively, they can also be called "Five Entities," referring simply to the meaning of existent things. \t\t\tThat is, from the two of definition and the defined, and from the two of the defined dharma and the dependent and the depended-upon, all knowables are gathered into these five, thus the term "Five Dharmas" was taught by the Victorious One himself. \t\t\tSecond, the explanation of the three natures has five parts: 1. The thoroughly imagined; 2. The dependent-arising; 3. The perfectly established nature; 4. The classification and summation of distinctions; 5. The three emptinesses and the manner of their establishment as the defined. \t\t\t1. Firstly: \t\t\tThose imputed by speech and conceptual thought are the thoroughly imagined; \t\t\tSuch as the nature of self of individuals, and the cessation of characteristics; \t\t\tThe dual appearance of apprehended and apprehending, like various categories; \t\t\tThe three dependently imputed, or alternatively, the ten aspects. \t\t\tThose things designated by speech and mind, and imputed by conceptual thought of the intellect, are the thoroughly imagined. For example, the designated object imputed by the sound "vase" is such, and the imputing agent is conceptual thought operating with mental factors of consciousness.
