The Eight Oral Transmission Teachings. Specifically, the Blood-drinker Root Dance associated with Vajrakilaya. This is a type of accomplished dance. Furthermore, all new and old dances, such as the Protector Dance and so forth, generally embody the nine dramatic sentiments of dance. Especially, Acharya Chandra said: Upon the upper body, lion-like attachment; Upon the waist, entwining attachment; Upon the four limbs, illusion-like attachment; Upon the muscles, relaxed attachment; Upon the changing flesh, butter-like attachment; Upon the expressions, majestic attachment; Upon the conduct, slow attachment; Upon the limbs, swaying attachment; Upon the feet, blissful attachment; Altogether, heroic and majestic attachment. It is also said: (147b) For fearsome and awe-inspiring dances, Excessive exaggeration is a flaw. For majestic and graceful dances, Excessive restraint is a flaw. For swift and blissful dances, Excessive hurriedness is a flaw. For slow and relaxed dances, Excessive languidness is a flaw. For charming and passionate dances, Excessive alteration is a flaw. And, Furthermore, the distinctions of what to abandon and what to adopt, along with the general instructions extensively taught, should be universally understood. Specifically, one must expertly study the unmistakable root sources of one's own tradition. Especially, earth dances and offering dances are connected with tantras and the practices of the Noble Land (India), so their great importance and necessity need not be mentioned. This Nyingma Blood-drinker Root Dance, from which tantra is it explained? From the Yeshe Ngamlo (Primordial Wisdom's Resounding Lightning): If one realizes the nature of all phenomena as equality, All movements and actions, Are proclaimed by the heroic ones to be mudras. By means of one's own deity's samadhi, Whoever abides in these postures, Even the Buddhas themselves would be awestruck, What need is there to speak of the hosts of the prideful? And, From the Tantra of the Method-Lasso, the manner of binding mudras and their purpose are also taught. That very practitioner, having realized the view of the indivisible ultimate truth as the great Dharmakaya, and meditating with a malleable samadhi, sealed by the mudras of appearance and conduct of the deity, spontaneously arises as Vajra Dance.

Included therein. As for the practice methods described in the *Illusory Net Root Tantra*, and the meaning taught in the supreme Vajra family Tantras such as the *Jigten De Do Heruka Galpo* (Tantra of Heruka Galpo, the Transcendent World Sutra), this tradition was transmitted from King Jah to the three learned ones, then to the Tibetan translator Ma Nyag Pal gyi bu Gyad, and the teachings descended from Nubs and Zur to Dar. (148a) Finally, it was extensively developed by the Mindrolling brothers, masters of the Great Secret teachings. Lochen Rinpoche composed the dance script *Kun zang rol pa* (Samantabhadra's Play/Dance) and meticulously established it. In this, there are two types of dances: the “Root Blood-Drinker Dance” related to the mandala's ground ritual, and the “Enemy-Averting and Obstacle-Expelling Dance” related to wrathful activity practices. First, among the thirteen points: initially, one dons attire blessed by the pride of outer deities and holds their attributes, so that one's body is not harmed by obstacles. Second, to prevent the words (interference) of deities and rakshasas (non-humans) from arising, a golden drink (serkyem) is offered. Third, to avoid the fault of revealing secrets, since the vessel world and the sentient world are clearly manifest as the mandala, one proceeds to the mandala ground possessing the ten esteemed postures for bodily transformation, being skilled in the three mudras, and having qualities consistent with the three types of body adornments. Fourth, one remains in one's proper abode, consistent with one's family/nature. Fifth, one visualizes the master as the Lord of the Wheel (mandala's master), and perfectly adorns the mandala through the activities of other attendants (such as Bodhisattva-sons). Then, one performs summoning, blessing, inviting, dissolving, offering, and praising. Sixth, one blesses the disciples from the directions to become the Mothers of the Four Families. Seventh, the Mothers of the Four Directions first offer worship and praise, and then one requests the explanation of the mandala. Eighth, the master (or practitioner) invokes the sacred commitment (samaya) of the Victorious Ones pervading space. Ninth, through the dance of Vajra Wrath, one admonishes and expels obstacles. Tenth, by taking the ground with the postures of the mandala deities: Performing three dance circuits, one generates the nature of the Dharmadhatu. Magnetizing dakinis inspire courage! Summoning the diminished life-force, invoking the sacred-oath bound protectors. The three realms of sky, intermediate space, and ground, Are blessed into wheels, the eight auspicious signs, and lotuses. With the vajra, the half-extended leg, and three mantras, The ground is sought, tamed, and empowered! (148b) According to this, the preliminary...
