From that it arose: at the very moment of transcendence from the ground, through self-recognition in its own appearance, the self-arisen pristine awareness, having attained the ground, was naturally liberated in its own state. It was endowed with the three spontaneously accomplished aspects: abandonment (of defilements), realization (of qualities), and great compassion. This is the Lord of both samsara and nirvana, named Samantabhadra, who, in a manner far transcending the mere emptiness asserted by the Causal Vehicle as abiding in the cessation of near pacification within the ultimate sphere of all its engagements, became the core of the spontaneously accomplished jewel, the great primordial purity of the ultimate ground (folio 80b). Having attained the impregnable fortress of the Youthful Vase Body, the inner clear and subtle wisdom, which is the basis or cause for the emanation of all external appearing qualities, dissolved, and thus, in the manner of undefiled crystal light being absorbed within, it abides in the nature of the Dharmakaya. --- Second, [the manner in which the ocean of self-appearing buddha-fields are arrayed from that] is: From its blessings, the self-appearing wisdom realm, In densely arrayed self-appearing complete enjoyment, The cluster of five families appears endowed with five certainties. From the power or blessing of that Dharmakaya, the spontaneously accomplished Densely Arrayed Mandala of Buddha-fields, diffused by the five self-appearing wisdoms, is limitless like space, transcending the object of thought, speech, and characteristics, free from limitation and partiality; the self-appearing Sambhogakaya, embraced by the wisdom of the Dharmakaya, appears as the nature of a cluster of the five Buddha families endowed with five certainties, transcending the sphere of activity of beings to be tamed, abiding as a great play of inseparable form and wisdom. --- Compassion for deluded beings arose, In each Mudra point and every pore, Numberless Buddha-fields, like atoms of the four elements, are arrayed, The entire Dharma-dhatu is filled with realms and forms. --- Then, at another time, from the primordial ground, seeing the limitless realms of beings, like a dream, deluded without cause, appearing as delusion, due to not recognizing the nature of the power that arose as the ground's appearance, great compassion arose. For their sake, the arraying of Buddha-fields is thus: from the appearing aspect of the self-appearing Sambhogakaya, the five Buddha families, bodies like great oceans, are arrayed limitlessly like space. Within the secret places of their mudras, chakras, etc., such as lotuses, and in each and every pore, also perfume.

Within the vast expanse of the great ocean of continuous flow, in every space occupied by the infinitesimal particles of the four elements—earth, water, fire, and wind—there appear great realms, self-manifested by the blessings of the Buddhas and the karma of sentient beings. These realms are of inconceivable and immeasurable forms, sizes, and arrangements, such as round, square, elongated (81a), and so forth. They pervade the Dharmadhatu and space itself, filled with the Body, Speech, Mind, qualities, and activities of the Buddhas, and the realms and bodies that arise from them. Like an unceasing wheel, they constantly work for the benefit of sentient beings. This is the field of taming and the activity of a singular primordial protector, vast beyond measure, and its beginning and end cannot be ascertained by saying, 'It began at this time and concluded at that time.' The Dharmakaya's realm is the Luminous Vajra Essence, The Sambhogakaya's self-manifestation is the Brahma Drum Sound, The Nirmanakaya's era is called the Great Brahma Kalpa. Within a space as small as a hair's breadth, countless Buddhas of the three times, Like an ocean of Buddhas and Samantabhadra and so forth, All their activities are encompassed within this. The aforementioned descriptions refer to the three distinct classifications of realms within the manifestation of the three Buddha Bodies: the Dharmakaya period is known as the Luminous Vajra Essence Realm; the Sambhogakaya's self-manifestation period is known as the Brahma Drum Sound Realm; and the Nirmanakaya period is known as the Great Brahma Kalpa. Within even a single hair-tip-sized particle of these realms, there are manifested countless Buddhas, like an ocean of Buddhas, who are emanations of the Primordial Protector and have appeared throughout the three times. And included within these are likewise countless realms of sentient beings. All that is pervaded by the four elements and space itself is contained within this Great Brahma Kalpa. In these realms, impure sentient beings experience death and rebirth; Buddhas pass into nirvana; the Dharma endures or declines; and sentient beings engage in various experiences of joy and suffering, such as practicing the path, all appearing like a dream. Furthermore, within each and every particle, immeasurable realms such as mountains, continents (81b), and oceans appear. Moreover, within one subtle particle of a world atop a single dust particle, there exist countless realms of sentient beings, all of whom are emanations of the Sugatas and the Bodhisattvas.
