Appearing as earth and colors, it is the abode of the Saṃbhogakāya (Enjoyment Body), and because there is no other sign above it that symbolizes the Dharmadhātu (realm of phenomena). \t\t\tThe Akaniṣṭha of wisdom is the wisdom that realizes the true nature of things as they are, and it is the abode of the Dharmakāya (Truth Body) endowed with two purities, because there is no other wisdom above it. \t\t\tThe secret Akaniṣṭha is the consort's space, and it is the abode of the secret body, because there are no other qualities of abode above it. \t\t\tThe Akaniṣṭha of visualization is when beginners meditate on the Akaniṣṭha palace, and it is the abode of the mandala of supreme samadhi, because there is no other conceptualization that grasps general meaning above it. \t\t\tThe Akaniṣṭha of worldly abodes is the uppermost of the five pure abodes (Śuddhāvāsa) of the gods, and it is the abode of the noble ones, because there is no other abode in the rūpakāya (form realm) above it, thus it is taught. \t\t\tFurthermore (71b): \t\t\tUltimate meaning and self-appearing dense arrays, \t\t\tNaturally emanated abodes, pure Akaniṣṭha realms, \t\t\tAll these, in the realms of the Three Bodies, Longchen Rabjam holds. \t\t\tSummarizing what was said before, Akaniṣṭha is categorized into three types: \t\t\tThe essence that cannot be placed in any extreme, center, or direction, free from all elaborations, is the ultimate Buddha-ground or supreme object of traversal, called the Akaniṣṭha of ultimate meaning. \t\t\tFrom the Dharmakāya, spontaneously arising as the luminous palace in the manifestation of great wisdom, appearing as the principal deity and retinues of the five wisdom families, naturally accomplished, unchangeable at all times, the assemblies of the mandalas of the five families, self-manifesting boundlessly in the expanse of space, this is called the Great Akaniṣṭha Ghanavyūha (Dense Array). \t\t\tFor the sake of sentient beings residing on the bhūmis (stages), in the center appearing as the Akaniṣṭha piled palaces and other realms of the five families, this is the Akaniṣṭha of the naturally emanated Nirmāṇakāya (Emanation Body) realm; \t\t\tAnd for the sake of mixed (beings), in realms such as Sahā (endurance world), the supreme abode that corresponds to the perception of sentient beings, is the Akaniṣṭha of the five pure abodes (Śuddhāvāsa) of the fourth dhyāna in the rūpadhātu (form realm) of their respective worlds, not a coarse physical object, but the nature of pure light

The abode accomplished from quiescence, adorned with various distinctions of immeasurable mansions and so forth, is the universally renowned Akaniṣṭha (highest heaven) of the Pure Abodes. The former two are the realms of Dharmakāya and Sambhogakāya, and the latter two are the abodes of Nirmāṇakāya. Thus, the three kāya realms are asserted by the Omniscient Longchen Rabjam Zangpo (Künkhyen Longchen Rabjam). Furthermore, there are many ways of explaining the distinctions between actual and metaphorical (designations). Beyond these, regarding the abode of Akaniṣṭha, Tibetan scholars have extensively elaborated on the distinctions between actual and metaphorical (designations), as well as refutations and establishments (arguments), but these are not mentioned here. Like the essence, the Omniscient Savior (Thams cad mkhyen pa sgrol ba'i mgon po) stated that even for the Akaniṣṭha 'Array of Dense Adornment' realm, there is a manifestation corresponding to Bodhisattvas on the eighth and ninth bhumis, a slightly obscured realm manifesting to those on the tenth bhumi, and an extremely pure realm manifesting only to Buddhas. If categorized by actual and metaphorical, there are three. These three can be referred to respectively as: metaphorical, general, and distinguished. This is called the Sambhogakāya realm. As stated in the Laṅkāvatāra Sūtra, it is in the Rūpadhātu (form realm) and is not the Akaniṣṭha of the Pure Abodes, but rather the abode of Maheśvara (the great lord, a son of a deity). The explanation of attaining Buddhahood there is not the way of Sambhogakāya attaining Buddhahood, but rather a way of manifesting a supreme Nirmāṇakāya. This Nirmāṇakāya appears to Bodhisattvas, manifesting the fundamental and the twelve deeds in the triple chiliocosm, which are aspects of its emanation. Such an Akaniṣṭha is also accomplished by the common virtuous karma of Bodhisattvas who primarily engage in aspirational conduct and noble beings dwelling on impure bhumis, hence its scale is definite. Furthermore, it is said to have been newly accomplished by Vairocana, thus it is not the 'Array of Dense Adornment' realm, similar to Sukhāvatī (the Land of Bliss). In the Kālachakra Tantra, it is stated: 'The Bhagavān (Blessed One) dwells in the Pure Abodes and so forth for the sake of the Śrāvakas (Hearers).' The Pure Abode mentioned here is synonymous with that (referring to the Akaniṣṭha mentioned earlier). The Sūtras stating that it is not a Pure Abode is because it refers to not being among those five Pure Abodes mentioned in the Śrāvaka Piṭaka. Therefore, generally speaking, it being a Pure Abode is not contradictory. This is exclusively the domain of noble Bodhisattvas, and also 'for the sake of the Śrāvakas' (meaning)...
