The unobstructed appearance of arising; the unobstructed enjoyment of arising like pristine wisdom; the unobstructed essence of arising like the [Dharma] Body; the unobstructed view of arising like non-duality; the unobstructed method of arising like freedom from extremes. The perfected gateway of pure pristine wisdom; the unobstructed compassion for the impure, like a precious wish-fulfilling jewel. As stated. Moreover, from the dynamic energy of the essence, the appearance of the Sambhogakaya arises; from the dynamic energy of qualities, the pure land appearance of the Nirmanakaya of nature arises; and from the dynamic energy of compassion, the gateway of samsara arises as a self-appearance, like a dream. Although such appearances arise in the true nature of that ground-appearance, they are not established as either delusion or non-delusion. Since the ground-appearance has the gateway of spontaneous accomplishment, the key to seeing pure realms and impure deluded appearances also lies in this. This itself is the basis of liberation, and primordial purity is the ground of liberation, therefore, distinguishing the difference is very important. Furthermore, if one recognizes the true nature of the ground-appearance itself, it is called the basis of liberation in terms of acting as a condition for liberation; if one does not recognize it, it is labeled as the basis of delusion in terms of acting as a condition for delusion. This is like the example of a white conch appearing yellow due to a delusive condition. Although it is not actual delusion, it is labeled as such when conditions cause it. As for Samantabhadra's method of liberation: The moment the ground-appearance arises, without grasping it as something other, one recognizes it as self-appearance, thereby cutting off wandering thoughts at their root. In the first moment, by recognizing the true nature of what arises as self-appearance, realization is born and distinctions are made. In the second moment, delusion is purified and pristine wisdom expands, thus the ground matures into the fruition, and by realizing the essence as primordially enlightened, it is called re-enlightenment. When self-appearance dissolves into primordial purity, the ground becomes the teacher Samantabhadra, who is enlightened prior to all. D2 Second, from that, the explanation of how sentient beings delude themselves has two parts: (53b) N1 Generally explaining the nature of delusion; N2 Specifically differentiating how bodies are formed. N1 First, From three causes and four conditions, the six consciousnesses stir, Not recognizing the true nature of the appearing ground, the group of five Phenomena revolve in the manner of grasping and being grasped, dependent origination. How does delusion arise? When, due to the three causes of ignorance and the four conditions of impure objective aspects, appearances manifest, and consciousness deludes into grasping and being grasped, the six consciousnesses stir unobstructedly, leading to the latent tendencies of the six afflictions...
