(Note:) There is the Kshatriya caste (ཟེའི་རིགས་); those who do not steal and so forth are called the Brahmana caste (རྗེའུ་རིགས་), and those who do such things are called the Sudra caste (དམངས་རིགས་), thus different castes emerged. \t\t\tChapter 3 [How the Chakravartin Appears]: \t\t\tThe golden, silver, copper, and iron Chakravartins, \t\t\tAppear here when life expectancy is eighty thousand years or more, within these three thousand great thousand worlds, \t\t\tIt is said that there are also those who fully rule. \t\t\tIt is said that the golden, silver, copper, and iron Chakravartins, who rule the four continents, also appear in this world when the lifespan is eighty thousand years or more. \t\t\tFurthermore, the palace first built by the Greatly Respected (king) was indeed Rajagriha (རྒྱལ་པོའི་ཁབ་), as stated in the supreme commentary on the Prajnaparamita Sutra in Eight Thousand Verses. He took a queen named Chu Stong Ma (Thousand Waters), from whom was born the son 'Od Mdzes (Radiant Beauty). 'Od Mdzes's queen Ri Las Skyes (Born from Mountain) gave birth to Dge Ba (Virtue). Dge Ba's queen Sprin Mgrin (Cloud-Throat) gave birth to Dge Mchog (Supreme Virtue). Dge Mchog's queen Ta La'i Rje Ngar (Tala Lord's Pride) gave birth to Gso Sbyong 'Phags (Holy Observance). These are called the Five Kings of the Fortunate Aeon. \t\t\tFrom the flesh-tumor that appeared on the crown of Gso Sbyong 'Phags (Holy Observance), 'Nga Las Nu Byung' (My Milk) was born. While he was in his house, he cast the golden wheel that appeared from the sky, saying, 'May it conquer the East!' So he went there with his retinue. Gradually, he brought the four continents and the thirty-three heavens under his dominion, thus becoming a great Chakravartin. \t\t\tHis form and conduct were largely similar to Indra (བརྒྱ་བྱིན་), and his lifespan could reach one hundred forty times that of Indra. \t\t\tHis son, Nyer Mdzes (Near Beauty), possessed a copper wheel, and merely by arraying his forces, he gained dominion over the East and South. \t\t\tHis son, Nyer Mdzes (Near Beauty), possessed a copper wheel, and merely by arraying his forces, he gained dominion over the East and South. \t\t\tHis son, Mdzes Ldan (Beautifully Endowed), possessed an iron wheel, and merely by brandishing weapons, he gained dominion over the Southern Continent. \t\t\tHis son, Nyer Mdzes Ldan (Near Beautifully Endowed), also possessed an iron wheel, and merely by brandishing weapons, he gained dominion over the Southern Continent. \t\t\tThereafter, all Chakravartins merely ruled over a single continent, and two would not appear simultaneously. (Continued) These (Chakravartins) possess characteristics and auspicious marks similar to those of a Buddha, though not fully clear and complete, and most of them are noble beings. Their lifespan is over eighty thousand years, and they appear during a golden age when the ten virtues are fully practiced. It is said that after this time, prosperity and power will no longer be complete. Those who are described as Chakravartins, ruling most of Jambudvipa by their power even without the seven precious jewels, can appear appropriately among those with a lifespan of over one hundred years. They also possess three weeks of unique implements. Among them, the Seven Supreme Precious Jewels are, according to the *Smṛtyupasthāna Sūtra* (or a similar Mindfulness text): The Precious Wheel: Made of gold, five hundred yojanas in diameter, with a thousand spokes. It can travel a thousand yojanas in a single day, and by its power, all retinues, including great elephants, can fly in the sky up to the Thirty-Three Heavens. The king can hear what was previously unheard, and it makes him unrivaled, appearing from the sky. The Precious Jewel: The size of a great man's thigh, octagonal. At night, it emits light for a hundred yojanas, and when the sun is hot, it produces cool water endowed with eight qualities. It makes an an area of a hundred yojanas free from sickness and fulfills all desired tasks. This is bestowed by Indra. The Precious Queen: Her body emits the fragrance of sandalwood, and her mouth emits the fragrance of Utpala (blue lotus). Touching her removes afflictions, and all people see her as a mother or sister. She dispels all hunger and thirst in that continent and fulfills wishes. She bears many children, and even without a husband, she is not swayed by the five desires. This is bestowed by the minister. The Precious Minister: Free from afflictions, he abandons non-virtues and knows all tasks without prior learning, acting with wisdom. He is kind to all sentient beings like a parent. The Precious Elephant: Intelligent and obedient. It can circle Jambudvipa three times in a single day. When ridden by the king, it travels wherever he pleases without needing to be urged. It brings victory over opponents. The Precious Horse: Blue like a peacock's neck, its qualities are similar to the elephant. Both of these (the precious elephant and horse) are bestowed by Indra.
