The "Immortality Treasury" (chi med mdzod) composed by Sengge is supremely excellent. Its Indian commentaries, "Elixir Explanation" (rnam bshad bdud rtsi) and "Lunar Words" (tshig gi zla ba), were composed according to the Sanskrit grammar tradition of Pāṇini. The Indian manuscript came into the hands of the Omniscient Master (Künkhyen Jé). Subhūti's commentary "Wish-Fulfilling Jewel" (dod jo) was composed according to the Sanskrit grammar tradition of Candra. Among these and other existing works, the latter, "Wish-Fulfilling Jewel," had not been accurately translated by Yanglo, Zhalu, and others, so the Omniscient Master revised the root text and completely retranslated the commentary. He also composed "Key to Opening a Hundred Doors of Treasury Commentary: A Summary of Names and Meanings." These works comprehensively cover the treatises of the four minor sciences. Dramaturgy (zlos gar) was not urgently needed in Tibet, so its actual treatises were not translated. Earlier Tibetans categorized Master Candragomin's "World-Delighting Play" and Pal Gawé Lha's "World-Delighting Play" under this field. Chapter 3, discussing the extended meaning, also has two parts: First, extensions from the minor sciences; Second, extensions from the general outline. First: The later ones were not present before Sakya Pandita. He composed three concise treatises on their meaning. These arose from the kindness of Shong, Pang, and Phagpa. The complete illuminator, the sun of the teachings. The minor sciences, such as poetics, etc., were not present prior to Sakya Paṇchen. He, considering that the complete Indian treatises were difficult for Tibetans to comprehend, composed three treatises summarizing the essence of the Indian texts: "Gateway for the Wise into Poetics" (snyan ngag la mkhas pa 'jug pa'i sgo), (page 222n) "Garland of Flowers" (sdeb sbyor la me tog chun po) on metrics, and "Treasury of Words" (mngon brjod la tshig gter) on lexicography. These treatises on poetics and others were first translated by Shong Lotsawa and Pang Lotsawa. This also came about through the kindness of the Protector Dharma King Phagpa, who instructed Paṇḍita Lakṣmīkara and Shong Lotsawa and provided conducive conditions. Later, when the lineage of explanation gradually declined and people's intelligence and diligence weakened, making it exceedingly rare to truly understand these subjects, it was solely the Omniscient Tenpa'i Nyinjé (Künkhyen Tenpa'i Nyinjé) who, directly and indirectly, made completely clear the entirety of the ten sciences, primarily grammar and medicine. Second [from the general...

[Continuation]: \t\t\tAs worldly treatises are not primarily taught, \t\t\tTheir foundational principles were not expounded by the Buddha. \t\t\tHowever, for their auxiliary (aspects), the wise extensively elaborated upon them. \t\t\tAmong these, these fields of knowledge (Vidyasthanas) are not directly included in the Three Turnings of the Wheel of Dharma. Because the Buddhas' main activity is to establish sentient beings in liberation and omniscience by teaching the stages of the Three Vehicles and the Four Classes of Tantra, thereby turning a wondrous and extraordinary Dharma wheel that is incompatible with worldly concerns, they do not primarily teach worldly treatises. Therefore, the foundational principles of these fields of knowledge were not taught by the Victorious Ones. \t\t\tNevertheless, because the Buddhas know and see everything without exception, when the occasion arises to tame beings, they expound and subdue them by teaching meanings concerning causes, examples, essences, and definitive terms that no one else can understand; this is a special characteristic of the Buddhas. Furthermore, since most of the scriptures exist in Sanskrit, to understand their meaning without error, one must master grammar, among other things. These (222b) are also indispensable branches of knowledge, and thus the wise have extensively elaborated upon them. \t\t\tThree: Incidentally, expounding on the origination of the sacred Dharma in other lands, which has five parts: 1. Shambhala, 2. China, 3. Khotan, 4. Agrodin, 5. The origination in other continents (or islands). \t\t\tOne: Firstly: \t\t\tIn Shambhala, the Dharma Kings (Rigden) constantly turn \t\t\tThe unsurpassed Wheel of Dharma. \t\t\tNinety-six great kingdoms practice Mahayana Secret Mantra. \t\t\tIn Shambhala, the fifth great land in the north, the Lord of Secrets (Vajrapani), Chandrabhadra, generally condensed all tantras, and specifically composed the great commentary of sixty thousand verses on the root tantra of the Kalachakra. He bestowed empowerments and taught tantras to fortunate beings in ninety-six billion (or ten million) cities. In the Malaya pleasure grove, south of the city of Kalapa, he erected the great mandala of the complete body, speech, and mind of the Kalachakra. He empowered Prince Devendra Singha to teach the Dharma on the throne. Bodhisattva Vajragarbha composed a commentary on the Hevajra and taught it to the sons of the Victorious Ones. Divinities
