在将Gyerstod(གཡེར་སྟོད་)地区作为奖赏的传承中,四方医生们因此而出现。

Due to (illness) having an effect, doctors were again summoned from the four directions, but others did not arrive. From China came 'Tsong-sum gang-ba' (meaning 'filled with three thousand worlds'). On the way, he composed a work called 'The Lamp of the White Healing Path' and offered it as a gift to the king (page 215b), also curing his illness. Because one person could accomplish the task of all four directions, he was named 'Tsong-sum gang-ba of the Four Directions.' In the lineage where the region of Gyerstod (གཡེར་སྟོད་) was granted as a reward, the doctors of the four directions thus emerged. Beirotsana translated astrological and medical treasure texts, etc. 'Dzoro, Biji, Mtha' bzhi are the lineage of the king's physicians. Based on the wording of some treasure texts, such as 'The great translator Beirotsana translated a mix of Dharma, Bon, astrology, and medicine,' many easily verifiable Tibetan texts have been mistakenly taken as Chinese texts translated by Beirotsana, which has already been refuted by discerning scholars. Similarly, stating that the nine great Tibetan medical masters appeared during the time of the Dharma King (Chos rgyal) is also a great error, as most of them emerged during the Later Propagation of the Doctrine. The aforementioned three—'Dzoro, Biji, and Mtha' bzhi—are indeed the authentic lineage of the Dharma King's physicians. Part 2: [Appearance during the Later Propagation]: Though many Chinese texts were translated both before and after the Later Propagation, Since Rinchen Zangpo widely propagated the 'Eight Branches', The lineage of the four Puhong physicians, Such as Zhang-zhig dar-mgon, Yuthokpa, etc., (the physicians) beneficial to Tibet initially diverged. During the early life of Lha Bla-ma Ye-shes 'Od in the Later Propagation of the Doctrine, the translator Dbyig-gi Rinchen and others in Nyewo (sNye-bor) translated 'The Essence of the Eight Branches' and its auto-commentary, 'The Precious Attainment,' etc., and many Chinese texts were translated and spread both before and after. However, primarily, the eminent Rinchen Zangpo offered one hundred measures of gold to the Kashmiri (Kha-che) pandita Janardhana and learned the 'Eight Branches.' Although there were many disciples who spread this text through translation and explanation, along with 'Moonlight Horse Medicine' (Zla zer rta dpyad) and 'Shali Hotra,' the main ones are: Nyang 'Das Seng-ge sgra, Shag tri ye shes 'byung gnas, Ong sman A le, and Mang kho sman btsun, who are known as the four Puhong physicians. Among them, Manglo was learned and had great activity, (thus) most physicians in Ü-Tsang (Dbus gtsang) sought his guidance. In particular, he completely bestowed the commentary on the text to Cher-rje Ti-pa. His fourth-generation descendant was Cher-rje Zhang-ston zhig-pa.

He composed outlines, sections, commentaries on teachings, practical applications, and so forth. Among his disciples, Dharma Gonpo from Tsang Tö (Upper Tsang) composed the Zintig and Yangtig (medical texts/instructions), which he then spread in the Bodong region. Furthermore, Lochen's disciple, Sherab Ö from Zhangzhung, taught Gyatön Drakpa Sherab. Gyatön Drakpa Sherab, in turn, taught Yuthok Gyagar Dorje. Yuthok Gyagar Dorje also clarified these texts, and the lineage was transmitted from Yuthok Brijpo and Kyungpo to Yuthok Yönten Gönpo. Again, Zhangzhungpa taught Ngok Jangmen, Yongdrung Ö, and Yuthok Drakse. Drakse also transmitted it to Yönten Gönpo. In essence, due to the kindness of Lochen Rinchen Zangpo, all beneficial Tibetan physicians ultimately originated from him. The renowned Nine Sages also relied on him; The texts composed by Tibetans are endless. At that time, the renowned Nine Sages appeared in Ü-Tsang (Central and Western Tibet): Yorok Yayongpo, the sage from the lower region; Summen, the physician from Töglung; the Four Boundaries of Üru; Yuthok Gyagar Dorje, the sage from the middle region; Minyak Dadrag; Drangti Gyalpo; Biji Lhünne, the sage from the upper region; Okpa Chöseng; and Cherje Takla Gagsam (three individuals). These also relied on Lochen's lineage of teachings. The texts composed by these and other Tibetan sages, appearing successively, are indeed endless. Both Shangtön and Tötön also went to Phag Yul (India); They became skilled in the Eight Branches, composed treatises, and their activities flourished. Shangtön Zibje Bar from Yarlung, and Tötön Könchog Kyab from Tsallung, being dissatisfied with Tibetan physicians, journeyed to India. The former met the sage Chandrasimha in Nalanda, (page 216b) and the latter met the Omniscient Shantipa. After becoming thoroughly skilled in the Eight Branches (of Ayurveda), Shangtön composed treatises such as the commentary on the immaculate splendor, "Moonlight." From his five disciples, the lineage of wisdom continued unbroken. Tötön composed the "Precious Rosary of Concise Earth Examination" and an annotated treatise, which he presented to Yuthok Gönpo, and his activities greatly flourished. Examinations of movements, mercury preparations, treatments for vital points, and so forth; Later, many authoritative teachings from both Bka' (canonical) and Gter (treasure) traditions emerged. Furthermore, belonging to the field of medical diagnosis and treatment, are Phadampa Sangye's three white, black, and variegated circulatory examinations; Khrophu Lotsawa's teachings for dispelling diseases from the wisdom dakini; Balpo (Nepali)...
