Extensively composed on the 'Three Mothers and Fourteen Sons' (revered as physicians), and the non-common secret 'Four Sons'; also moderately on texts like 'The Dark Pot Commentary' (Be Bum Smug Po Ti Ka) and 'The Essence Drop' (Yang Tig), and concisely on 'The Small Red Letter' (Yi Ge Dmar Chung), etc. These were not translated into Chinese (Gya Nag) official texts. Furthermore, it is said that many works like 'The Lineage of Compositions' emerged, and among their descendants appeared physicians named 'Biji'. After extensive discussions among many scholars, including Hoshang and Khyungpo, the essence of new medical doctrines was extracted, and a great treatise named 'Soma Raja' was composed. These earlier and later works were collectively housed in a brocade box and became known as 'The Guru's Medical Scripture, The Sutra of Sustenance'. (215a) In Trisong's era, three emanated princes' texts did rise, Yellow-bound books for king, ministers, and common folk three wise. Chinese, Zhang Zhung, Hor, Tibetan, A Zha sages established their canons likewise. During the time when Dharma King Trisong Detsen first governed the kingdom, three great physicians—Dharma Raja from India (Gya Gar), Maha Kin 'Da from China (Gya Nag), and Canpa Shila Ha from Ta Zig (Persia/Central Asia) or Khrom (Byzantium/Rome)—gathered, and were known as the "Three Emanated Princes." These three deliberated and composed a medical treatise titled 'Heap of Jewels', in accordance with the medical traditions of their respective countries. Its root was 'The Wheel of Sun and Moon', along with commentaries and branches, forming a great treatise. Before Canpa Shila Ha returned to his own country, he imparted advice to the princes, which became the 'Biji's Yellow-bound Sutra'. This was later presented to the King and became known as 'The King's Life-Letter, The Blazing Light'. Hoshang Maha Cheta translated the 'Five Treasuries of Precious Roots' which integrated the 'King, Ministers, and Commoners', with 'Great and Medium Branch Treasuries', and a 'General Meaning Commentary'—externally for the common people, internally for the ministers, and secretly for the king—including sections on averting obstacles. It is said that in his later life, nine chief physicians from the four borders arrived, but this is a narrative lacking substance. Because the King's extremely cherished horse fell ill, he commanded, "Seek and bring all skilled physicians for examination!" Consequently, Ze'u Tho from China (Gya), Khu Lod Mu Khan from Zhang Zhung (ancient Zhang Zhung kingdom), Mu Gan Khri Gzigs from Hor (Mongol/Turkic regions), Cog Ro Mang Po Gzigs from Tibet (Bod), and Tha Na Chu Skyes Lnga from A Zha (Tuyuhun kingdom, Qinghai) were invited to treat the horse. According to the King's command, these five experts integrated the essential medical instructions from the five kingdoms, composed a treatise, and presented it to the ruler, establishing a widespread tradition. In the later part of Trisong's life, he fell ill.
