Treatises on Therapeutics, treatises of outer doctrines (heterodox schools), and treatises on crafts, each numbering one hundred and eight. He composed four hundred and thirty-two miscellaneous treatises. Upon seeing the commentary called Mahābhāṣya, composed by Lhakmacan (or "the remnant one") in the southern region, he criticized it, saying that a commentary should be concise in words, rich in meaning, non-repetitive, and complete. However, the one by the Nāga was mostly ignorant, verbose, poor in meaning, repetitive, and incomplete. After such criticism, in the manner of Pāṇini's concise and well-summarized meaning commentary, he composed the Cāndra Vyākaraṇa, which is characterized by being concise, clear, correct, and perfectly complete, comprising seven hundred verses and twenty-four chapters, and as its branches, he composed the Letter Sūtra and others. At Nālandā, upon seeing the Kusumadhvaja Vyākaraṇa composed by Candragomin, he realized that its verbal arrangement was extremely excellent, and his own work was not as excellent. Thinking that it would not benefit sentient beings, he cast the volume of Cāndra Vyākaraṇa into a well. The Venerable Tārā prophesied: “What you have composed with a good intention for the benefit of others will greatly benefit sentient beings in the future. However, what Candragomin composed out of scholarly pride will be of little benefit to others. Therefore, retrieve the volume from the well.” As prophesied, he retrieved it, and merely by drinking the water from that well, great wisdom arose. Regarding that exceptionally renowned and excellent treatise (Cāndra Vyākaraṇa), his maternal uncle, Dharmadāsa, composed a commentary on it. Ratnamati composed an sub-commentary on that, and Pūrṇacandra composed an explanation of that sub-commentary. Furthermore, there are other branches such as the Uṇādi Sūtras with their own commentaries, and many other texts composed by the master himself, such as the Dhātu Pāṭha Sūtras, and others composed by various authors. Since the root text was translated by Śhong Lotsawa Dorje Gyaltsen, its teaching and study in Tibet (Bod-yul) has been uninterrupted. Tibetan commentaries were also composed by Lotsawa Thukje Pal and Zhalu Choekyong Zangpo, among others. Later, the great commentary composed by Kunkhyen Dharmakara is indistinguishable from the Indian original, a great treasure of flawless excellent explanations. Third, [Kālapa] (grammar): To understand the grammar explained by the Lord of Devas (Indra) to Indradhruba, According to the teachings of Sukha-yoga, Sapta...

Varmā accomplished the Six-faced Youth; Kalāpa teachings sprang from Shong and Pang's grace. Furthermore, during the time of King Chandana, the Lord of Gods (Indra) explained the definitive meaning of grammar to the Brahmin Indradhruva, from which emerged the "Indra Vyākaraṇa" (also known as "Indra's Grammar"), comprising twenty-five thousand verses. Not long after, in order to comprehend this grammar, according to the command of King Deva, the Brahmin Saptavarmā accomplished the Six-faced Youth. When he achieved accomplishment and was asked, "What do you desire?", he replied, "I wish to understand the Indra Vyākaraṇa." Merely by uttering "སིདྡྷོ་ཝརྞ་ས་མ་ནཱཡཿ (Siddho varṇa samāmnāyaḥ, सिध्do वर्ण समाम्नायः, Siddho varṇa samāmnāyaḥ, Sanskrit: Collection of Accomplished Letters/Phonemes)," he understood the entire meaning of grammar, and then he himself composed the "Kalāpa Vyākaraṇa." This is in the tradition of the Indra Vyākaraṇa, and many external and internal commentaries also emerged. In Tibet, many studied this very text, so the root text was first translated by Shong Lotsawa. Thereafter, Pang Lotsawa and others successively translated commentaries like Dur Singh Si and works like Ti, and many Tibetan commentaries, both good and bad, also appeared. (D.4) Fourth, [Mentioning Saraswati Vyākaraṇa and related matters]: The grammar bestowed by the Noble Saraswati to Anubhūti, Jonang Jetsun and Chökyi Nangwa translated and expounded the root and commentary. Again, during the time of approximately six scholars (Sgo Drug), the "Sarasvatī Vyākaraṇa," directly bestowed by the Noble Saraswati to the Brahmin master Anubhūti, who appeared in the southern region of Mahārāṣṭra (Maharashtra), became widely prevalent in the Noble Land (India). In Tibet, Jonang Jetsun Drolwai Gonpo, relying on the Panditas Kṛṣṇa and Palabhadra, first translated the root text and commentary. He also composed a commentary. Adar Lotsawa also revised the root text, and though his commentary was considered a fundamental translation, the translation of the root text itself was sometimes quite good. However, in the commentary, when comparing the Indian and Tibetan texts, there were many discrepancies, making it seem more like an original composition than a translation. Nevertheless, a tradition of teaching and learning based on it flourished. The omniscient Kunkhyen Chökyi Nangwa consulted with the Brahmin Viṣṇupati in Nepal, and having thoroughly understood the difficult points, he made the master's self-commentary, "The Clear Lamp" (Rab byed gsal ldan), his fundamental translation, and in the Noble Land (India), the great commentary Puñjarāja...
