Om. Thus arose the thirty-six realms of desire. In this Desire Realm, where the merits of sexual intercourse are principal, and where there is attachment to the food of the realms, it is thus known as the Desire Realm. This includes the six classes of desire gods, such as the Paranirmitavashavartin (gods who control others' emanations); Uttarakuru (Northern continent), Aparagodaniya (Western continent), Purvavideha (Eastern continent), Jambudvipa (Southern continent)—these are the four great continents; and their eight sub-continents; the two unhappy migrations of sentient beings, animals and hungry ghosts; and eight hot hells, eight cold hells—combining these, they are called the thirty-six realms of desire. Initially, during the formation of the world, in the manner and order previously described, beings descended from above and spread, thus giving rise to these very migrations. The happy migrations, and unhappy migrations, each ten, making twenty, Can also be established as twenty-eight. Other classifications and aggregations are: the six desire gods and the four continents constitute ten happy migrations; the eight hells, animals, and hungry ghosts constitute ten unhappy migrations, thus renowned as the twenty realms of desire. (20n) If the eight sub-continents are separated individually, it can also be established as twenty-eight realms of desire. Although there is a practice of including asuras (non-gods) among animals, because their abodes, bodies, enjoyments, etc., are similar in nature to gods, they are included therein. The negative particle in the term 'Asura' is applied to 'inferior' and not to 'opposite.' This is also explained in texts such as the 'Yogacarabhumi' (Sa sde) and the 'Kalpadruma' ('Dod 'jo'). T3 Third [Happiness and Suffering] is: All happy migrations, such as the Form Realm, Their lifespan and enjoyments decrease from lower to lower. The suffering of unhappy migrations, the later, the greater. The Form Realm has seventeen abodes, the six classes of desire gods, and the beings of the four continents—their lifespan and enjoyments gradually decrease from lower to lower in the order mentioned during their previous emanation, while the earlier ones have longer lifespans and extremely vast enjoyments. As for unhappy migrations, their suffering gradually increases from lower to higher, as follows: hungry ghosts suffer more than animals, hell beings suffer more than hungry ghosts; and within the hells, the lower abodes have progressively greater suffering than the upper ones, and their lifespans also gradually lengthen. T4 Fourth [Method of Collection] is: Four Dhyana heavens, four formless heavens, one Desire Realm, Collected by nine grounds, six migrations by lineage. Hymans, gods, and the three kinds of unhappy migrations.

It is established as five through the gateway of tantra and path. In this way, the three realms are also categorized by the differences in mind, and established as nine: the formless realm is divided into four abodes, thus having four grounds; the form realm is divided into four dhyanas, thus having four grounds; the desire realm has no particular distinctions, thus being one ground, totaling nine. If categorized by types, there are six destinies (realms of existence). As stated in the *Father and Son Meeting Sutra*: The six destinies of sentient beings are shown: Hell beings, animals, hungry ghosts, Asuras, humans, and gods, The Lion of Men (Buddha) established these as conventional designations. Thus it is. Furthermore, in the *Lalitavistara Sutra* (Extensive Sport Sutra): Sentient beings, by the power of craving, existence, and ignorance, Unwisely wander through the five destinies (humans, gods, and the three lower realms), Like a potter turning his wheel. As such, it is also established as five through the gateway of the continuum of birth and the path of migration. Alternatively, there are also explanations for five paths: the path of dreams, the path of habitual traces, the path of the end of karma, the indeterminate wheel of samsara, and the path where cause and effect are individually indeterminate. All of them are gathered into the four modes of birth, And into the aggregates of definite right, definite wrong, and indeterminate. If all these migratory beings are categorized by modes of birth, they fall into the four types: born from a womb, born from an egg, born from warmth and moisture, and spontaneously born. Among these, gods, hell beings, and intermediate state beings are all spontaneously born. Humans and animals can be from all four modes of birth. Hungry ghosts are said to be born from the womb and spontaneously born, as it is explained. Furthermore, in such a world of sentient beings, all birth, abiding, and death are gathered into three aggregates: the definite right aggregate, the definite wrong aggregate, and the indeterminate aggregate. The first refers to the noble ones (Aryas), the second to those who commit an instantaneous (Anantarika) karma, and the third to all others apart from these two. Chapter 2: Explaining the manner of abiding in the intermediate state, there are four points: 1. General explanation of migratory beings; 2. Specific explanation of Jambudvipa; 3. The manner of the appearance of a universal monarch (Chakravartin); 4. Displaying other distinctions such as food. 1. Firstly: During the time of abiding (in this world), other migratory beings apart from animals, Mostly experience their karmic results, with certainty. When the world realm has been well-formed and is abiding, other lower realm beings apart from animals.
