The ultimate unconditioned elements are fully endowed. From the “Two Truths” it is said: Because it is the body of all phenomena, because it is the support for all immeasurable qualities, because it is the essence that follows wisdom, it is the Dharmakaya of all saviors. These also, in the sutras: the chapter on “Perfection of Wisdom” (Rab 'byor gyi le'u) teaches omniscience (rnam mkhyen); the chapter on “Pure from Two Extremes” (mtha' gnyis rnam dag gi le'u) teaches knowledge of the path (lam shes); the chapter on “Special Conduct” (spyod pa khyad par can gyi le'u) teaches knowledge of the basis (gzhi shes); the chapter on “Suchness” (de bzhin nyid kyi le'u) teaches all aspects (rnam kun); the chapter on “Perfect Purity of Training” (bslab pa yongs su dag pa'i le'u) teaches the summit application (rtse sbyor); the chapter on “Gradual Entry” (rim gyis 'jug pa'i le'u) teaches the successive application (mthar gyis pa); the chapter on “Perfect Training” (bslab pa yongs su rdzogs pa'i le'u) [page 148a] teaches the moment application (skad cig ma); the chapter on “Fruit of Training” (bslab pa 'bras bu'i le'u) teaches the Dharmakaya. The reason for the determination of eight categories is also this: for one individual to attain Buddhahood, there are three knowledges regarding the objects to be known, four applications regarding the path to be practiced, and the resulting fruit is the Dharmakaya. As stated in the “Precious Lamp of Summary of Meaning”: “Three knowledges for the objects of knowledge; four applications at the time of meditation; the ultimate fruit, the Dharmakaya.” The classification of these, the renowned seventy hidden meanings: Ten dharmas indicating omniscience, such as the generation of bodhicitta. To attain the fruit of omniscience, one must cultivate knowledge of the path, therefore eleven dharmas indicating that. To perfectly understand the path, one must know the distinctions of the conflicting factors of the basis and their antidotes, hence nine dharmas indicating knowledge of the basis. The three knowledges, determined through hearing and contemplation, are summarized into one hundred and seventy-three points, which must be meditated upon, hence eleven dharmas indicating the complete application. Bodhisattvas in the accumulation path alternately cultivate the complete application, thereby giving rise to experiences predominantly from meditation, which is the summit application, represented by eight dharmas. The meanings of the three knowledges, individually and in summary, are meditated upon with confidence in due order, which is the successive application, represented by thirteen dharmas. Such a gradual meditation sequence exists from the stage of the warmth of the path of preparation. However, by meditating from the first bhumi onwards, the categories of realization manifest simultaneously and stability is attained. By meditating on the aspects of the three knowledges with a single momentary wisdom, that which has not...
