Made the lower commentary prevalent. From the east came the great Acharya Orbhipar-tsilu-pa, or Pito Acharya. This great scholar, having become a great master, when he saw all the collections of Sutras and Tantras in Nalanda, Vikrama Shila, and the monastery of Rinchen Riwo (Ratnagiri), realized that to fully unravel the ultimate hidden meaning of the Vajrayana, the commentary on Bodhicitta (Jangchub Semdrel) was necessary. He saw that this was taught by the emanated king in Shambhala, and furthermore, being urged by the principal deity, he resolved to go to Shambhala. On his journey, the Kulika (Rigden) appeared in the form of an emanated monk and blessed him. He received all the Kalachakra empowerments, tantras, and oral instructions, comprehending them fully, and being satisfied, he returned. In Varendra, he took the younger Pindopa as his disciple and gave him all the empowerments, tantras, etc. Because this one (Pindopa) hid the tantric commentaries when there was harm from war, later the root tantra and its commentaries became incomplete. Especially, in Varendra, the renowned Great Dhushabpa (Kalachakra Master) arrived. He met with the younger Tsilupa (Pindopa). He (the Great Dhushabpa), being unsatisfied, on his way to Shambhala, met an emanation of the Rigden. This emanation bestowed empowerments and taught oral instructions. Through meditation, he achieved realization and reached Shambhala itself. From the Rigden himself, he directly received the empowerments, tantras, commentaries, and oral instructions. He returned and greatly spread the lineage of Bodhicitta commentaries in India. Among his disciples, the younger Dhushabpa, Shri Bhadra, debated with five hundred pandits at glorious Nalanda, overpowering all of them with his speech. All except Ngagwang Drakpa and Sherab Jungney prostrated at his feet. This Dharma spread throughout the entire world. Kings, ministers, and great merchants also commissioned texts and established karmic imprints. Setting aside the time before the Kalachakra arrived in India, from then on, if one gathered the Siddhas of the Kalachakra in one group, and all the Siddhas of other Dharmas in another group, the Siddhas of the Kalachakra would be numerous. The son of the younger Dhushabpa, Nalendrapa, also known as Bodhibhadra, through his instructions to the Kashmiri Pandita Dawa Gonpo (Chandragomin) and others, the Buddha-activity greatly flourished. It is also renowned that the glorious Naropa further emphasized and spread the teachings of the Kalachakra.

2. The Way Tantric Monasteries Flourished Later, in the great monastery known as 'Vikrama,' which was built by Dharmapala, Tantric masters such as Jñānapāda, the Six Scholars, Jowo Jigme Jung, and Śākyaśrī, among others, sustained the teachings. In the Noble Land (India), although countless Dharma colleges of both Mahayana and Hinayana arose, the most renowned Tantric Dharma college was Vikramashila, also known as the 'Vikrama Attitude.' This great monastery was built by King Dharmapala, the fourth of the fourteen rulers of the Pala dynasty—who emerged after the completion of the Chandra dynasty kings—and who possessed immense power. It was situated on the summit of a small hill on the northern bank of the Ganga (Ganges) River in Magadha. In this monastery, there were Panditas who illuminated the teachings, and many supreme Tantric masters such as Jñānapāda. The renowned 'Six Scholars,' together with the glorious Lord Atiśa, Abhayakaragupta—the second Buddha of the degenerate age, and Panchen Śākyaśrī—the seventh Buddha yet to come, and others, successively appeared and jointly sustained the teachings of Sutra and Tantra. Among them, Buddha Jñānapāda, a disciple of the master Siṃhabhadra, went to Oddiyana and pleased the Great Lakshmi. Furthermore, having received the empowerment, tantra, and instructions of Guhyasamāja from Srungwai Zhap and Mañjuśrīmitra, among others, he achieved siddhi through meditation. He served as the great Vajra Master of Tantra in Vikramashila, teaching the three Kriya Tantra sections and the five Inner (133b) Tantra sections: Guhyasamāja, Māyājāla, Buddhasamāyoga, Candraguhyatilaka, and Mañjuśrī Krodha. By primarily explaining the Guhyasamāja Tantra, he vastly propagated the teachings of Vajrayana. He composed works such as 'Sādhanā Samantabhadra' and 'Completion Stage Tilaka of Liberation,' and the 'Guhyasamāja Jñānapāda Tradition' became widely known as a major lineage. He also made notes on Mañjuśrī's teachings, such as 'Mañjuśrī's Oral Instructions,' totaling fourteen treatises, and many other works. Although he had countless disciples, the principal eighteen who held the regency, and those who attained nirvana in their visible form were Dīpaṃkarabhadra, Śāntimitra, and Rāhula, among others.
