It is the nature of being devoid of faith. Thus it is said. It is not a falsehood that is neither one nor different, because conventional truth is not deceptive in terms of cause and effect in the face of delusion. So, are both true? If so, conventional truth appears, but it is an illusion in which self-nature is not established, and ultimate truth transcends the realm of the mind, so it completely abandons the assumption of being established as true, and there is nothing to assert. For example, although illusion is not truly present in the objects of horses and cattle, it appears as horses and cattle, etc. Among these categories, such as mirages, water in rocks, dizziness, images, rainbows, clouds and lightning, although they do not exist, they appear, which is the same. In the Commentary on the Awakening Mind of the Middle Way it says: From ignorance to old age and death, the ultimate twelve branches, the things that arise in dependence, I regard as dreams and illusions. And in the Condensed View of Naropa it also says: The very nature of self-awareness, free from elaboration, appears and is empty, empty and appears. Therefore, appearance and emptiness are inseparable. Like the moon in the water. Thus it is said. Therefore, the Blessed One knows that all three realms are like this, and in order for sentient beings to realize this truth, he taught various methods. The third is, after that, it should be clearly stated. Thus it is said, in this way, the deluded samsara is on the side of consciousness, and the non-deluded nirvana is on the side of wisdom. Where and how did the root of these two come from? Being able to realize oneself and being able to explain it to others also depends on the profound causes, conditions, and dependent origination. For example, just as one can know whether one's appearance is beautiful or not from a clean mirror, one can rely on the guru's oral instructions and the stainless sutras and treatises to generate the wisdom of hearing and thinking, thereby understanding the truth of the two truths. Just as the existence of fire can be inferred from the appearance of smoke, the realization of practice that arises in the mind stream also symbolizes the wisdom of transformation. In short, all the dharmas of samsara and nirvana, although they have been beyond the limits of elaboration from the beginning, appear in the way of dependent origination. Relying on the profound wisdom of birth and habituation, one realizes this without error. Out of love for future followers, I will clearly state it in this treatise without hiding it. Thus it is said. Two

There are four proofs for establishing appearances in the mind: explaining the dependent origination of the five entering consciousnesses and proving that they exist in the mind; eliminating wrong views that are not mind; stating the proof that there is no other agent; sixth, explaining the connection of mind. First, the so-called "five senses are not established," which means that the five consciousnesses related to the five senses of eye, ear, nose, tongue, and body, which are born from the alaya consciousness of the cause, together with the afflicted mind, are the dominant cause, and the mind immediately after that, with the five objects of form, sound, smell, taste, and touch as the object cause, meet and gather, relying on touch. Taking the pleasant environment such as beauty and pleasantness, it generates the disturbing emotion of greed. Rejecting unpleasant and unpleasant things, such as ugliness and unpleasantness, generates hatred. Because of not realizing the nature of equanimity, ignorance is generated, and karma is accumulated. Therefore, why does wandering in samsara take it? It is taken because of the true attachment to the stimulating appearance. Then, what are the causes and conditions for the appearance of the five objects to be taken? If you examine it carefully with the eyes of wisdom arising from hearing, thinking, and meditation (94), you will know that the five consciousnesses of the senses arising from the power of the mind are only manifested in their respective five objects, and there is no other cause. For example, the dust particles advocated by the Hinayana Vaibhashikas, or the "self" and "author" advocated by the heretics, do not exist in the external environment. Thus, Aryadeva's Compendium of All Wisdom Essence says: "There are no parts, no external objects, nothing to be abandoned, and the experience is like a dream." Second, the so-called "when there is no connection" means that if external objects, such as form, etc., really exist outside the inner eye consciousness, etc., then the two, consciousness and object, should not have the same nature of connection, nor should there be a connection between them. The function of the object consciousness is invisible, and it has not become the quality of touch, so the unobstructed consciousness, although it shows a different appearance from it, does not produce the obstructed object, because there is no real cause, and no real result is produced.
