Having passed, do not dwell. Thus it is said. The answer to the question asked by the Bhagavan is: A practitioner, having a pure lineage and having received empowerment, should first engage in the generation stage when learning the path. That is, one should be endowed with the yoga of the generation stage of wisdom, emptiness, and selflessness, or diligently practice the yoga of any of the four glorious Herukas of the Bhagavan. Other than that, with a distracted, ordinary mind, one should not dwell even for a moment desiring accomplishment. The second has two parts: the first practitioner and the way to practice after gaining stability. The first is: From the beginning, the form of the skull cup. Thus it is said. That is, the place for the first practitioner to become accustomed to the yoga of the deity is: the mantra practitioner mentioned above, that is, the practitioner's mind is focused on one point, not distracted from the yoga of the deity, and in order to achieve stable samadhi, one must definitely examine and seek a secluded and agreeable place. Or, if one cannot find it outside, one should practice at night in one's own home, etc., where other distractions are pacified. There, because the mind is at ease, the samadhi will become clear. The reason for not practicing at night in charnel grounds, etc., is that one fears that the first practitioner will encounter obstacles to body and life. Having gained stability, one should practice in charnel grounds and mountain bird nests, etc. At that time, for the benefit of all sentient beings, with the mind of wanting to achieve the great seal, one should practice the yoga of selflessness. That also requires being skilled in the way of guarding the object of focus (368) or practicing by someone with the wisdom of realizing no birth. Or, one should practice the stage of generating any of the four glorious Herukas as a deity. The second is: From the feet, do not dwell. Thus it is said. Whenever the mind gains some stability in the yoga of the deity, not only during meditation, but in all activities, one should act in the form of the deity, that is, washing one's feet, eating and drinking food, sprinkling or rinsing with water for coolness, enjoying chewing betel nut, rubbing one's hands with fragrant sandalwood powder, and covering the area below the waist with a waistband and lower garment.
