How it arises. Second, briefly explaining the two stages separately, there are two: the generation stage and the completion stage. The first has two parts: the necessity of meditating on the generation stage first, and its detailed explanation. (32) Its detailed explanation. The first is: From Heruka, it is said, "One should meditate." It means that in order to realize those meanings of the brief explanation, the generation and completion stages are the main methods. To represent the meaning of the three doors of liberation, the Heruka indicated by the letters of Heruka, such as the sixteen-armed Heruka, and the four Herukas of meaning, the four bodies, are for the cause of generating in one's own mindstream. As the first of the paths of liberation, one should meditate on the generation stage, which is one part of the completion stage. Or, one should meditate by believing that the male and female deities are the essence of the indivisible union of bliss and emptiness of method and wisdom. That is to say, the Sanskrit word for "one" is "eka." If it is derived from the sound "esu kha," then "e" is emptiness, which is wisdom, and "sukha" is bliss, which becomes the meaning of the union of bliss and emptiness. The second is: From the Vajra Essence, it is said, "One should meditate on ka." It means that if one explains the generation stage only according to its literal meaning, then calling the Vajra Essence great compassion, merely meditating on the objects of form, etc., as the form of the deity, one is liberated from ordinary conceptualizations, and if one clings to those objects as (33) real, then one is bound by the bonds of attachment. If one fully knows that the aggregates of form, etc., are the deity such as the Form Vajra Mother, then one is liberated. If one analyzes and examines those deities as being without substance, then one fully knows that they are not real, and thus one will meditate on the deity as an illusion, which is the wise one. If one fully knows that the essence of wisdom or the co-emergent mudra, etc., is also the nature of being without substance, then one should meditate on Heruka, who appears but is without inherent existence, as an illusion. That is all. If one speaks of the definitive meaning of the completion stage, according to the general meaning, the Heruka who is inseparable from the basis, path, and result, first, the cause of the completion stage, which is the form of the letters e-vaṃ(藏文:ཨེ་ཝྃ,梵文天城体:एवं,梵文罗马拟音:evaṃ,汉语字面意思:如是). By recognizing the only reality, one gathers all the objects of the nature of method and wisdom, and by using them in the way of union, one is liberated. Aggregates
