Stabilize the earth and purify the land. Above, with mantras such as Akaro (Tibetan: ཨ་ཀཱ་རོ།, Sanskrit Devanagari: अकारो, Sanskrit Romanization: akaro, literal Chinese meaning: A syllable), offer torma to the earth goddess and local deities. (326) Then, as described in the third chapter regarding the meditation on the protective circle, here too, for the sake of protecting the earth, practice accordingly. The extensive and concise protection should be meditated upon as described in the root and explanatory tantras. Whichever disciple, once accomplished in entering the mandala, the empowerment is an excellent distinction. Connecting the above and below here, supplementing the content of the explanatory tantras, etc., bestow it completely with the rituals of their respective mandalas. At the time of occupying the land, offerings and prayers should be made to the guru and the deities who accomplish the mandala, and before each empowerment. As described in the root and explanatory tantras and their summaries, it should be done here as well. Fourth, in the "Supplement," it says, "Below and above." This means that when drawing the mandala, on the two or more supplementary levels previously mentioned, draw the beautiful patterns evenly with the size of one level. If delayed, obstacles will arise, so the signs of the white goddess, etc., should be drawn quickly. How to draw? Here it refers to hand gestures. It is symbolized by drawing a curved knife in the east. In the father tantra mandala, the hand gestures of the eight goddesses, and as drawn on the eastern lotus petal in the mother tantra, so should it be in the south and west, and in the north and the fire corner, and in the empty wind corner as well. In the place of the powerful one, the hand gesture of the curved knife should be drawn as spoken. Like that, draw curved knives in the west of the lower west and the east of the upper east. Because that is the sign of the right hand of the fifteen goddesses. Fifth, in the "Vajra," it says, "Terrifying Lord." This means that after the mandala accomplishment and offering, and the outer torma offering are finished, the guru generates the pride of Vajrasattva, the main deity, and extends the right leg, starting with the east gate, etc., gathers the face and hands, and with the two hands forming the vajra mudra, opens the gate, offers flowers, etc., as preliminaries. Just as the disciple enters the mandala, the guru actually receives the empowerment from the main deity. Furthermore, with the action vase, bathing and abiding in cleanliness, anointing the body with fragrant perfumes, and adorning with various ornaments.

Adorned with six ornaments and garments, the Heruka (Tibetan) moves with a dance, uttering the intimidating sound of "Hum Hum" (Tibetan, Sanskrit Devanagari: हुं हुं, Sanskrit Romanization: hūṃ hūṃ, Chinese literal meaning: Hum Hum). With the dance of non-self discomfort and the sound of "Hi Hi" (Tibetan, Sanskrit Devanagari: ही ही, Sanskrit Romanization: hī hī, Chinese literal meaning: Hi Hi), terrify and intoxicate the demons, thus should it be done. This, even during the earth ritual, is extensively explained as the vast dance arising from the Vajra Tent Tantra, or briefly, even doing just this much is implied. The definitive meaning of these, Naropa and Dhamgadaśa, among others, have explained very extensively. The establishment of the fourth empowerment, from the outside, is "various natures." As it is said, the third empowerment, after experiencing the wisdom of knowledge, truly explains the suchness of example and meaning. Separated from the defilement of conceptual signs, it is the form or nature of the great bliss of pure wisdom. For the conceptual thoughts that grasp the cycle of samsara with all its afflictions, and the purification of their liberation as two, there is no difference whatsoever in ultimate truth, because everything is without inherent existence, hence the essence of equality is union. Therefore, supreme joy is the unsurpassed wisdom, the non-elaborate ultimate innate wisdom. In its nature, because duality does not appear, there is no object to be meditated upon, nor is there a person who meditates, because it is free from grasping at signs. The phenomena that appear in the body of a yogi are not established apart from the innate, and there is no impure object to be grasped, such as form, nor is there the stain of attachment of the power consciousness that grasps them. Therefore, because there is no body, there are no impure substances of the body, such as flesh and blood, nor are there feces and urine, so there is no disgusting contemplation. There is no ignorance of grasping at self and what belongs to self, and there is no grasping at bathing and purification as cleanliness, so there is no wearing of the Brahmanical thread for the sake of offering, and there is no attachment to purification by water, and because the afflictions of improper attention are pure in their own place, there is no desire, so there is no anger dependent on it, and there is no pervasive ignorance of delusion, and there is no jealousy of others, and there is no stinginess towards what belongs to me, and no pride in myself, and the knowable and the knower to be seen are also (330) not established separately, so they do not exist. When there are no afflictions, the antidote to them is meditat
