I, beginning with Indra, and even the more powerful Isvara and others, or the lower attendants and others, even if unbearable splendor arises, do not be afraid. One should wander freely like a lion, which no wild animal can frighten, in such a way that one's own form or nature is without the slightest fear. In this way, one can subdue the unsubduable, enhance one's own realization, and engage in conduct that overcomes all obstacles. The seventh is, from "sentient beings" to "not intoxicated," it is said. (205) Then, is it not the case that all of this is merely the yoga of wisdom and emptiness, and that the aspect of skillful means will be lost? In order to benefit all sentient beings who are like the sky, having generated the mind of enlightenment, one should always drink the great drink of compassion that is inseparable from emptiness, that is, enjoy it. In this way, the yogi who delights in the drink that is inseparable from emptiness and compassion will not drink because of attachment to the taste of other drinks such as alcohol, because that would become very foolish and become an obstacle to yoga. Or, the Self-Arisen Feet said, the yogi should delight in the drink of union of calm and insight, and if one drinks alcohol and so on, one will become intoxicated, so one should abandon it, and apart from that, there is no meaning in becoming intoxicated by the drink of calm and insight. In secret meaning, all sentient beings are the nature of the five aggregates. In order to increase the five wisdoms, with compassion like a white lotus, the mind of enlightenment is stabilized by the power of the wind, and the taste of bliss and emptiness is drunk, (206) Tasting, do not be intoxicated by attachment to desire. These modes of conduct are explanations according to the literal meaning. The name of the third chapter is, the Chapter on Conduct, that is, the sixth chapter. Thus it is said, it is an explanation of the meaning of the words of the chapter on the conduct of asceticism, which enhances the wisdom of the completion stage, that is, the sixth chapter. The seventh chapter is the chapter of symbols. The connection of the chapters is that, in order to practice the conduct of wisdom asceticism mentioned above, in many situations, male and female yogis can recognize each other, and conduct
