Sa. Requested mantra. Thus it is said, in order to increase the uncontaminated bliss, from the lotus of the Mother, the main (thing) is applied to the (main deity's) penis, with the essence of non-dual wisdom, tightly embraced with the hands, and then kissed with attachment, thereby stimulating the great bliss of union. After pleasing the Bhagavan with reverence, secret and true offerings, in order for later followers to realize the truth of the mantra and to obtain the accomplishment of the mantra, the Mother, the Selfless Mother, requested and asked to reveal the root mantra that had not been spoken before. The second (part) has three (points): exhortation to listen, showing the action and necessity, and actually explaining the root mantra. The first (point) is, from "woman" to "I will tell you". Thus it is said, whatever (mantra) the yogi uses to control the three doors of women with lineage, this is also a vow. Similarly, for others, for the wicked and malicious who are afraid of losing their lives from intimidation, and for shaking and intimidating the four kinds of dragon clans, and for subduing the gods of the desire realm and the form realm and the asuras of the desire realm, that is, subduing or driving any action, and repeatedly making them do it, that is, completely subduing. The Vajra Holder, who has such merits, I will declare. Calling (her) as the goddess, the giver of unchanging bliss, listen. This root mantra, (553) is extremely difficult to obtain. For the non-learning Buddha, and the Bodhisattva who is learning, for those who seek the meaning of this mantra, I have not taught it in other tantras. Whatever arises from the true power of this mantra, and whatever actions the main deity of the mandala, Vajrasattva, has done before, urging (her) to listen to the goddess, it is extremely terrifying, that is, it has such great blessings, because the request cannot be refused, so I will tell you. Thus promised. The second (point) is, from "burning" to "do everything". Thus it is said, previously Vajrasattva, with the power of manifestation, the garland of five burning rays radiating outwards, the complete mandala was completely established, and after it was accomplished in an instant, the great-minded Vajraེ་སྙིང་པོ་ལ། For the wisdom vidyā who bestows the four empowerments of this deity, the daughter of the gods named "Supreme Tilaka," who is said to have arisen from the gods gathering their splendor into a sesame seed-sized form, the mother of Indra (བརྒྱ་བྱིན་) is invited with this mantra. Those who follow the previous practitioners should first complete the recitation of this mantra, and then recite it ten thousand times in the action phase to achieve success. The method of recitation should be such that the words of the mantra are clear, the length of the sounds is distinct, and there are no other errors in the recitation, making it pleasing and excellent. Therefore, during the initial recitation and at this time, by engaging in the practice of meditating on any of the four families of Hevajra, one can invite the consorts, i.e., the action mudrā goddesses, etc. Furthermore, if the yogi himself recites one million times with the yoga of the generation stage of Hevajra, i.e., possessing this yoga, with a mind free from doubt about whether it will be accomplished or not, then this root mantra will accomplish all desired actions such as pacifying and increasing. Thirdly, from the Vidyā, it is said, "Svāhā (Sanskrit Devanagari: स्वाहा, Sanskrit Romanization: svāhā, Chinese literal meaning: accomplishment)." So, what is the root mantra? It is the first of the Vidyās, and to this, in the Ornament and the Great Record, it is considered to be simply the single letter A (seed syllable: ཨ, Sanskrit Devanagari: अ, Sanskrit Romanization: a, Chinese literal meaning: A). (556) While Rangjung Zhap said that the first of the Vidyās is the giving of the syllable Om (seed syllable: ཨོཾ, Sanskrit Devanagari: ओ, Sanskrit Romanization: oṃ, Chinese literal meaning: Om), although he did not mention the distinction, in the definite statement, O (seed syllable: ཨོ, Sanskrit Devanagari: ओ, Sanskrit Romanization: o, Chinese literal meaning: O) is said for pleasantness and clarity, U (seed syllable: ཨུ, Sanskrit Devanagari: उ, Sanskrit Romanization: u, Chinese literal meaning: U) for dominion and protection, and Am (seed syllable: ཨཾ, Sanskrit Devanagari: अं, Sanskrit Romanization: aṃ, Chinese literal meaning: Ang) for offering and giving. Therefore, it is explained that the four Vidyās are indicated by the symbols of four letters, so the first of the Vidyās is the letter O decorated with a half-moon and a dot, which is in accordance with what Jetsun Drakgyal Zhap has well explained in the Pure. The syllable Om also has many meanings, but here it means salutation. Aṣṭa (Sanskrit Devanagari: अष्ट, Sanskrit Romanization: aṣṭa) means eight, and Ānana (Sanskrit Devanagari: आन, Sanskrit Romanization: ānana) means face, so connect A to the life of ṭa, give that one word to the latter na, and transform it upwards with "de yao." The letter A has sound, and because it is said to be long, the A in the life of the latter na becomes long, thus forming Aṣṭānānāya (Sanskrit Devanagari: अष्टानानाय, Sanskrit Romanization: aṣṭānānāya), which means for the eight-faced one. Piṅga (Sanskrit Devanagari: पिङ्ग, Sanskrit Romanization: piṅga) means reddish-yellow, and Ūrdhva (Sanskrit Devanagari: ऊर्ध्व, Sanskrit Romanization: ūrdhva) means upwards, so connect these two.
