By means of manifesting, gradually ascending in reverse order, and relying on it, one attains the twelve bhūmis. Therefore, by this method, one relies on the wisdom mudrā. From this, the arising of experiences with outflows and without outflows is said to be the Tathāgata in the sense of reason. Alternatively, relying on it, each individual's own awareness and wisdom are possessed in the continuum, thus it is said to be the Tathāgata. Because one realizes and directly perceives that very suchness of wisdom. Here, according to the views of other wise and accomplished ones, by the power of the two accumulations, one proceeds to the suchness of the Dharmakāya by the power of wisdom, and again proceeds to the suchness of the Rūpakāya by the power of merit, thereby benefiting beings. For this reason, one is called the Tathāgata by the wisdom awareness of the indivisibility of wisdom and mind vajra, which is the common and ultimate meaning. The glorious ones are the five mudrā families. Proceeding to that suchness is realizing that family from that. Proceeding again is realizing the co-emergent from that, which is explained as the hidden meaning. This verse is considered to explain the etymology of the Tathāgata. Third, it is said, "Family from that, becomes three." This means that the five wisdoms are each similar to the above five families, and what is similar to all is Vajrasattva and the realm of wisdom, therefore it is said to be six families. Because Vajrasattva and Akṣobhya are briefly summarized as indivisible, it is said to be five families. Alternatively, if divided by the distinction of body, speech, and mind, from the outside, the family will also become three. From the "Union Without Stain," the way to condense the five families into three is: Vairocana and Amoghasiddhi are the nature of skillful means and wisdom, therefore the body is gathered into Vairocana. Similarly, Amitābha and Ratnasambhava are considered skillful means and wisdom, therefore speech is said to be gathered into Amitābha alone. Mind, Akṣobhya himself, Vajrasattva is gathered into it, therefore it becomes three. Fourth, it is said, "Family and that, should be said." This means that the etymology of the so-called "family" is, in the stage of what is to be tamed, the vajra and other families, as well as the five elements of earth, water, fire, wind, and space.
