Naropa said, "Because of performing fierce actions, she is called Tummo." Having said this, it is like disparaging a butcher. Similarly, a daughter of a Brahmin, a caste with pure conduct, all of these should be constantly practiced by realizing the innate bliss born from the union of skillful means and wisdom as the empowerment of wisdom, and should be offered with the joy of meditative absorption. If skillful means and wisdom are separated, accomplishment will not be attained; they will not be separated. As the Self-Arisen Foot said, one should strive to practice them in union. Here, regarding the meaning of not being separated, the Indian commentaries explain it as not being seen by others, as the meaning of secret. Its meaning is that if those of lesser capacity perceive the conduct of the mudra, they will be condemned by the world and hated.

It is the place where I and all suffering arise. The third is from the five families, saying "should be said," that is, saying the "mudra" arising from the five families, the just-mentioned dancer, painter, prostitute, candala, and brahmin women, if one can transform afflictions into the path by relying on their skillful means, then one can subdue desire with desire itself, and quickly accomplish the cause of the unsurpassed liberation of the Buddha's bodhi, therefore the Bhagavan said "should be said," therefore one should enjoy them, because this is a special path. The fourth is: (155) From the vajra, saying "should be said," the definition of mudra is: sealing with the non-dual wisdom, the indestructible vajra, hence it is called mudra. Or, relying on the karma mudra possessing the nature of the five families, arising the co-emergent great bliss, with the vajra that does not distinguish between object and subject, sealing in the continuum of the yogi, and personally experiencing it, therefore it should be said to be called mudra. The fifth is, from the vajra, saying "said to be five," that is, the karma mudra of the vajra family, the lotus family, the suchness karma family, the tathagata family, and the ratna family. Called vajra essence, great compassion, among all karma mudras, the noble family that can generate the most excellent bliss, is said to be these five types. Some commentators believe that this verse should not be limited to the category of mudras, but generally shows the five Buddha families. The sixth has four: the identification of individual families, the transformation of the tathagatas, the classification of families, and their definitions. The first is, from the vajra, saying "should be said," then, what is the mudra of which family? Vajra Akshobhya, the mudra of his family is the prostitute. Similarly matching: the mudra of the lotus family of Amitabha is the dancer, the mudra of the karma family of Amoghasiddhi is always said to be the painter, the mudra of the tathagata family of Vairochana is the brahmin woman, the mudra of the ratna family of Ratnasambhava should be known as the candala woman. These five mudras

From these, each possessing its own marks, are definitely any of the five karma mudras of a yogi. These also, because all dharmas are without inherent existence, are suchness, abiding in the manner of the Thus-gone One, so all five families are summarized by the name of the Thus-gone One, and briefly stated as having become its family. The details are explained in the eleventh chapter of the Lower Tantra. The definitive meaning of these is: They are the nature of the inner mudras. The Tathagata family is called "mother," namely the Brahmin woman, the Buddha eye, and the lotus of the navel. The sister is Māmakī (Tibetan, Sanskrit Devanagari: मामक, Sanskrit Romanization: māmakī, Chinese literal meaning: mine), the Vajra family, Ḍominī (Tibetan, Sanskrit Devanagari: डोमिनि, Sanskrit Romanization: ḍominī, Chinese literal meaning: Domini), and the heart. The daughter is the fire element, the Padma family, the dancer, and the secret place. The niece is the wind element, the Karma family, the seller of Dharma, and the forehead. The wife is the Vajra family's sovereign mother, the space element, the Ratna family, Caṇḍāli (Tibetan, Sanskrit Devanagari: चण्डालि, Sanskrit Romanization: caṇḍāli, Chinese literal meaning: Chandali), and the crown of the head. The outcaste woman is the wisdom element, the Vajrasattva family, and the secret lotus. Thus, the five chakras, five elements, and five families are purified, the five mudras to be pervaded, and the sixth pervading wisdom element is purified, is Vajragarbha. This is explained in Naropa's commentary. For this reason, the inner mudra, the five winds, and the bodhicitta are made serviceable, and Buddhahood is attained from the unwavering. Second, the glorious one said, "It should be said." As the words are: The one endowed with the splendor of non-duality, who has gone to the realm of suchness, and who has gone again in the same way. Therefore, with this reasoning that possesses the perfection of wisdom, it should be called the Tathagata family. The meaning is: The one endowed with the splendor of existence and peace, the support Kunda (Tibetan, Sanskrit Devanagari: कुन्द, Sanskrit Romanization: kunda, Chinese literal meaning: Kunda) and the co-emergent joy of the support are called Tathagata. From that, from the union of karma and wisdom mudras, by the power of the wind, the four joys descending from above go in order as they are situated, and after experiencing the four joys, they meet again at the navel as they arise in order, mature in the heart, arise in the throat, and obtain the stainless fruit at the crown of the head.
