The three circles (channels) entwined in three forms act as the condition for the eyes to grasp forms. The mother who possesses all desires hears sounds with the ears. The householder mother, who dwells as the mistress of the house of channels and winds, smells odors with the nose. The fierce mother, who performs fierce actions, tastes flavors with the tongue. The (mother) who causes separation from the demon of death grasps tangible objects with the body, and it is said that one aspect of her activity is to draw the white element upwards. The Heart Commentary and Naropa say: (47) From the separation from demons, the drink of nectar descends upon the small uvula. The Practitioner believes that these can be explained as arising from the central channel. Other explanations that appear in the Ornament Treatise should be understood there. Second, the combination with the twenty-two external realms is as described in the seventh chapter below, where each of the five crown chakras is purified, thus attaining the ten bhumis, which are the ten bhumis of the north. The Kalachakra states that by purifying the crown chakra, one attains the Buddha bhumi. Third, in the resultant Buddha bhumi, the channels are purified, and the Vajra Body is manifested. Furthermore, in the lower Tantra, the three main channels are the Selfless Mother, and two of the other twenty-eight channels are the fourteen goddesses, and so on. Fifth, there are two parts: the question and the answer. The first is: The Blessed One said, "What is it like?" Vajragarbha asked, "Blessed One, what is the nature or complete purity of these thirty-two channels?" The second is: (48) The Blessed One said, "It should be examined." There are four points here. First, according to the literal meaning, all thirty-two channels of the body, which arise from and are completely formed by the various actions of the three realms, are, in the ultimate sense, of the nature of the central channel, having abandoned the grasper and the grasped; it should be known that this is so. Or, from the perspective of the differences in methods, the characteristics of the entities of each channel should be examined, just as they have been described. Second, in terms of the general direct meaning, all phenomena that are completely formed from the three realms of desire, form, and formlessness are of the nature of abandoning the grasper and the grasped, inseparable from co-emergent wisdom, which is the meditation on ultimate truth. Or, by means of conventional truth, they are things
