The causes that can take effect are relying on the two bodhicitta in the continuum and possessing abundant virtues of devotion such as faith and respect. Then, dividing a session into four sessions, etc., practicing in sessions, and continuously engaging in constant diligence in secluded places is practice. Those who possess these conditions are those on the path of accumulation. In the common vehicle, the lesser on the path of accumulation meditates on the four mindfulnesses, the middling meditates on the four right abandonments, and the greater meditates on the four legs of miraculous powers, etc. Here, too, there is meditation on the yoga of the deity. In the greater path of accumulation, at that time, from the lineage of Dharma, in order to obtain vast wisdom, one receives calm abiding and vast instructions from the Buddhas. This also contains the meaning of that. Constant diligence is the samadhi of the Dharma lineage, and the qualified lama with characteristics is the manifestation of the Buddha's nirmanakaya that appears to oneself. Receiving instructions from him is the meaning of receiving instructions from the Buddhas. In the Mahayana path of accumulation, listening and thinking are the main things, but there is also meditation-born wisdom. Therefore, in the root text, it says, "Knowing well, understanding, liberating, and practicing," as proof, in the self-commentary, the quote from the scripture of Vimalaprabha is cited. This is because in the path of accumulation, (155) At this stage, it is established because it is mainly practicing the retraction branch of the six-branch yoga. Abiding in such a path of accumulation also arises from having practiced well in many lifetimes before entering the path. The yogini practitioner says: Generating correct faith and abiding in diligent yoga, in millions of kalpas, is urged by my wisdom. The second is, entering from the channels and winds. It is said that, on top of the former, knowing well the key points of the knots of the channels, winds, and bindus, and continuously cultivating the experience of the completion stage, which is the wisdom of example, is the practice of Samantabhadra. Abiding in it, from the time when the experience of bliss, clarity, and non-conceptuality, represented by the sign of heat, etc., arises, it is the proximate cause for connecting to the path of seeing. Therefore, one abides in the path of joining. The boundary of the path of joining is entering into a special experience of the completion stage.

It is because it comes from there. The meaning of the word is: Because it is the path that actually connects to the path of seeing, it is called the path of joining, and because it manifests the ability to quickly generate the path of seeing, it is called the heat stage. Here are other signs of the heat stage. In the "Two Examinations" it says: Like suffering like fear and madness, and the existence of sorrow and grief, etc., these do not harm the eyes are signs of small heat. Great attachment, hatred, and ignorance, the practitioner himself is not confused by afflictions, and the afflictions caused by great causes cannot harm him, are signs of medium heat. The fruits of benefit and harm arise, that is, the fruits of samadhi, such as the part of supernatural powers, etc., are said to be signs of great heat. These three are also the same in meaning as the three heats, peaks, and forbearance spoken of in the Paramita Vehicle. When the heat is obtained, in order to excavate and purify it, there are two kinds of behaviors, namely, with signs and without signs. The one with signs is mixed with external conditions, relying on the first three mudras, and the rational behavior gradually passes through those paths of joining, thereby combining with the path of seeing. If you do not want to perform the behavior with signs, then you can also rely on the very signless inner behavior, that is, the Great Seal, to purify that path, which is what is said in the tantras. The characteristics of this path of joining are: the secret of collecting various discriminations, and the secret of meditation in which the mind is focused on one point, is a path with four branches, mainly: body solitude is the practice of the body vajra guidance, mainly binding the activities of the veins, so it is also said that the veins are the path of purification. To purify the veins, it is also necessary to touch the key to wind yoga, so the practice of speech vajra life diligence is also this. Fully practicing the five branches of meditation, it is said that one can obtain the cause of the five eyes and five or six supernatural powers, as it is said in the King of Tantras: Through the purity of the combination of meditation, one will obtain the five supernatural powers, is the king among men. This is mainly because the veins are purified, so it enters the body mandala among the three mandalas of body, speech, and mind, so it is the body at the time of the path.
