For the initial practitioners and those who only believe in emptiness, this is also extremely secret, because they cannot understand it, so it naturally remains secret. Although the Buddha did not conceal the Dharma, because all teachings are adapted to the faculties, abilities, and times of the beings to be tamed, it is naturally secret for inferior times. (11) In order to prevent those with inferior abilities from turning away from the Dharma, to prevent those who are blessed by demons, and to prevent those self-righteous wise men from acting arbitrarily, the profound meaning of the tantras is hidden in the treasure chest of Vajra words. So, what exactly is this expressed meaning? It is the innate wisdom of the self within the mind, and the self within the body, that is, the signs and marks manifested by its own light. In order to clearly understand that both body and mind have the seed similar to the two bodies, it is explained here. This verse also shows that the profound inner meaning can only be understood by those beings to be tamed who have excellent faculties. The first of the six extremes mentioned earlier, those with hidden meanings, is further divided into three types: hidden meanings regarding time, hidden meanings regarding meaning, and hidden meanings regarding intention. The first, for example, considering that in the future, the twelve winds will cease and at the end of the eleventh bhumi, enlightenment will be attained in an instant, it is said: "Enlightenment is attained perfectly in an instant." The second, for example, just as someone enjoys the daughter born from the god Indra, considering that it is necessary to constantly enjoy the mother of all Buddhas, the Prajnaparamita, emptiness with all excellent characteristics, such as the nature of subtle subjugation, it is said: "Having taken from all the Buddhas, enjoy the daughter born from the god." This is what is said in the Mahamaya Sutra. The third, considering that it is necessary to kill the ten outer fields, the ten inner winds, and the self-grasping conceptualizations secretly considered as the name of the great life wind, the Hevajra Tantra says: "You should kill beings." The second, those without hidden meanings, are divided into two types: temporary and ultimate truth. (12) From a temporary perspective, if one engages in unwholesome actions, one will fall into the lower realms.

Sa, you should not kill living beings, nor should you speak lies, as it is said. In the ultimate and definitive sense, it is not spoken by others, but co-emergent, and nothing can be found. Relying on the skillful means of the guru, it is known from one's own merit. Like these and so on. Third is the provisional meaning. The sand mandala and offerings, symbols, hand gestures, fire offerings, generation stage, and the accomplishment of activities, etc., are all said to be methods for entering the inner way. Fourth is the definitive meaning. Binding the channels, winds, and bodhicitta, etc., are methods for realization, and the nature of the mind, which is naturally luminous, the alaya, the tathagatagarbha, and the great seal, the supreme and unchanging, are all scriptures that clearly show the meaning to be realized. Fifth is the literal meaning. The scriptures that show accordance with the fame of meaningless worldly treatises. Sixth is the non-literal meaning. The names of the ten root and branch winds are: Koṭākhya (โคฏาขย།), Koṭāva (โคฏาབ།), Koṭā (โคฏཱ།), Koṭāvāṣṭa (โคฏཱ་བཱ་ཥྩ།), Koṭāraga (โคฏཱ་ར་ག), Kolākhya (โคལ་ཁྱ།), Krolālva (ཀྲོ་ལ་ལྦ།), Kola (โคལ་), Kolapañca (โคལ་པཉྩ།), Kolasteṭha (โคལ་སྟེ་ཋ།), as it is said. And in the explanations, like Vairochana, which are not found in the terminology of worldly treatises, and all that is spoken in the secret language of the Tathagatas. All tantras are summarized into two tantras: the object to be expressed, meaning, and the expressing word. The object to be expressed is the two truths, conventional and ultimate. Therefore, in relation to the former, there are two: provisional meaning and those with intention. In relation to the latter, the ultimate, there are two: definitive meaning and those without intention. The expressing word tantra is divided into two: literal and non-literal. The meaning of the four modes is extensively explained in the "Lamp Illuminating the Meaning of the Four Modes," and it is necessary to learn it elsewhere. Here, I will only mention a few examples. The first mode is: when the two letters ཨེ་ཝྃ་ (evam) are combined, they enter the beginning, like the famous "Thus have I heard" in the world. The second is: when the two letters are applied to the generation stage, the support is the deity's body and the supported is wisdom, or the support is the palace and the supported is the deity combined. (13) The third is: the letter ཨེ་ (e) is the lotus, the letter ཝྃ་ (vam) is the vajra, and it enters the movement of Maya, or the body.
