It is said that the bindu obtained from the mother below the navel, the essence of red, the nature of blood, is in the shape of an "A-thung," as if blocked by a small amount of white mustard. Between "A" (Tibetan, Devanagari: अ, Romanized Sanskrit: a, Literal Chinese meaning: A) and "Hum" (Tibetan, Devanagari: हूँ, Romanized Sanskrit: hūṃ, Literal Chinese meaning: Hum), it is filled with the great life-sustaining wind of the fundamental basis and abides, being a colorless color, like the sky. The central channel below the meeting point of the three channels below the navel is called "Copper-colored Mother," because the stream of white essence of all channels gathers into one and flows, generating innate bliss. Therefore, it is called that. The Hevajra Tantra says, "The moon of wisdom descends, that is well-known as Kundalini." The second is, "This is... to do." It is said that the state of the central channel is described in this way in the Chakrasamvara, Samputa, and Krsnacarya's Spring Drop: "The channel in the heart, like the petals of a lotus, the seed in the center is clear like the flower of a water tree spike, and there is no red and white flowing, so the inside is empty. At the upper end, "Hum" (Tibetan, Devanagari: हूँ, Romanized Sanskrit: hūṃ, Literal Chinese meaning: Hum) hangs down, looking head down, and the lower end is adorned with "A-thung," like a sesame oil lamp. Below that, the channel where the bodhicitta of all channels flows equally is to be known as "Avadhuti," and from that, it gives rise to innate joy." This is the meaning of what was said. The third is: In short, etc., one line. In short, it exists inseparably from the life force of sentient beings. Here, when identifying the central channel, some consider there to be two types of central channel: the central channel of meditation and the central channel of existence. The former is the object of a yogi's samadhi, while the latter exists in the center of the body from birth to death and disappears at the time of death. Some believe that it exists in the (50) scriptures. Others believe that the center of the central channel is as thick as a horse's tail, and that it does not actually exist, etc. These are not in accordance with the three-examination-purified tantric texts and are self-created, as stated by the Seventh Karmapa and his son. The essence of the view of the Omniscient Rangjung Dorje is: It exists in the central part of the body and is without the two, grasper and grasped, therefore method and wisdom are inseparable. Adorned with the six chakras of the channels, in the center of the crown of the head is "Hum" (Tibetan, Devanagari: हूँ, Romanized Sanskrit: hūṃ, Literal Chinese meaning: Hum), and at the meeting point of the three channels below the navel, it is also adorned with "A-shad."

Above, it represents the aperture of Brahma and the space between the eyebrows of wrathful deities, etc. Below, it is the tip of the male vajra jewel and the pistil of the female lotus. Above the navel is filled with wind, and below the meeting point of the three channels below the navel is filled with the nature of the wisdom mother—the lunar bodhicitta. As stated in the Kalachakra, "Above is Rahu, below is the fire of time," which is said from beginning to end. Its function is to cause the bodhicitta to descend through maras and to bestow coemergent joy, hence it is known as the "all-trembling nadi." Above, between A and Ham, is the wind with sound, or the life wind of embodied beings. In reality, all winds of karma and wisdom depend on that central channel, therefore it is the life channel that sustains embodied beings. Therefore, the root of all wisdom is the alaya-jnana, and the root of all consciousness is the alaya-vijnana. Just as these two are inseparable, and ordinary consciousness is called the Tathagatagarbha from the aspect of being the cause of Buddhahood, the root of all wisdom channels is the central channel, and the root of all samsaric channels is the life channel. Therefore, it is reasonable to call these two inseparable channels the life channel from the aspect of the Rahu channel relying on life. The root of all wisdom winds is the indestructible wind, and the root of all karma winds is the great life wind. Therefore, these two are mixed like water and milk, and it is also reasonable to call the Rahu wind the life wind from the aspect of holding life. Therefore, in the ground phase, practicing the essential path of striking the inseparable central channel and life channel, in the result phase, all channels are completely purified and become the sole central channel, which is like the life and heart of the Dharmakaya in terms of meaning. The names of this channel are: Avadhuti, meaning the all-trembling one, the subtle (51) form, Sumana, the inner single tree, the Brahma staff, and so on. Je Mikyö Dorje and his son established the three central channels of ground, path, and result. The central channel of the ground is: the impure central channel or life channel of the body, pervaded by the lineage, cause, or essence of the pure central channel of the result phase. The central channel of the path is: by meditating on retraction and so on, the wind-mind slightly enters the door of the inner central channel, relying on it...
