Without any obstruction in the expanse, in the state of vast, ordinary space, severing the connections of the three times of mind, the clarity is unceasing, thought-free, nakedly and openly spread out and abiding. This is: From the Mirror of the Mind of Kuntuzangpo: "Clear and unscattered, a state difficult to fathom, When emptiness and clarity are spread out, one enjoys the realm of great bliss. In the state of single-pointedness, the state of ultimate reality." And from the Garland of Pearls: "Empty and clear, clear and pervasive, Unstained by thought, awakened by memory, Free from elaboration itself, Pervasive and empty like the sky, Self-pure, free from all signs." And from the Sixth Space: "Self-awareness, equal fortune, emptiness as a companion, By being accustomed to this, great is the fortune, Holding the body of non-thought, Holding the light of my compassion, This and I, our fortunes are equal." And from the Blazing Lamp: "When the natural appearance is unceasing, All deluded thoughts and memories are exhausted, The appearance is self-pure in the realm, Even in the non-conceptual awareness, Knowing the unchanging equality, Even in the realm of all equality, Since primordial thoughts are exhausted, The self-nature abides in the pure realm. Speech and appearance are inseparable, Without outer and inner, even in the realm, One abides in the state of great ease. Without outer and inner, being transparent, Like being smeared with butter, without impurity, Even in the great primordial purity, The characteristic of the completely pure realm, Naturally abides." And from the Union of Sun and Moon: "Whatever is accustomed to the realization of the self-nature Dzogchen, By resting without searching, all meanings are found, Without meditation, great bliss increases. Directly realizing the self-nature itself, Whoever encounters this, Even if they possess unbroken vows and sins, By meditating on this, they will be liberated, Without any doubt, Naraka." And from the Lion's Perfect Strength: "The nature of reality, without attachment, is devoid of substance, The supreme, non-dual intention of all Buddhas, The nature of reality, without effort, is self-settled, The nature of reality of Ubchu Ting enters the field." And from the Jewel Inlaid: "The nature of space is primordially pure, In the Dharmakaya itself, there is no substantial thought, Without outer and inner, in the great expanse, The nature of the expanse is boundless and without substance." So forth. The self-knowing, self-illuminating nature of those views, without sinking or rising

Undisguised by ignorance, vast and open, without distinction between inside and outside, pure and liberated from the faults of delusion and bias. In the Uttaratantra it says: Unfamiliar abiding meditation is when the doors of the senses are clear, but the mind does not understand, the mind that examines awareness itself, does not wander outwards, is not a discriminatory cutting off, nor does it fall into isolated emptiness, is not a continuous stream of pleasure, nor does it fall into indifferent numbness, clear mindfulness is rest, practice is free from deviation and the path is empty, grasping naturally flows inwards, the aspect of clarity is held, colors, letters, and transformers, if these do not fall to any side, then it is unfailing abiding meditation. The characteristic appearance of meditation is that in the characteristic emptiness-clarity awareness, it is not mixed with any nature, the extremes of grasping and being grasped are exhausted, and the nature of reality is self-purified. The appearance is not delusion, but in the nature of pure causes and conditions, when existence and non-existence are self-purified, the attachment to the objects of the five senses is purified, the grossness of the elements is purified, and pure wisdom shows the appearance of increasing. That is the nature of exhaustion. So it is said. That is also when self-arisen wisdom stirs in emptiness, first the self-grasping on the subtle and gross elements is purified, and the experience of wisdom emptiness-clarity increases, until finally the subtle and gross particles of the elements dissolve separately, and the grossness is purified like the dissipation of mist, and awareness reaches the end in the Dharmakaya primordial purity and is said to be self-consumed. As it says in the Heap of Jewels: By leaving it uncorrected in its own place, all the words of this mind, without anyone teaching them, appear to be understood in each individual's mind. When this itself is familiar in one's own mind, without thoughts appearing, all appearances are self-purified, and everything becomes purely primordial, transforming into the realm of great emptiness-clarity. The four elements of earth, water, fire, and wind, without their individual powers appearing, dissolve into the sky like mist. The various deluded attachments, no matter how much one thinks about them, do not arise, and the parts of grasping and being grasped naturally cease, and nothing appears and is self-consumed, and the manifestor is one's own experience, and all embodied beings are the same. So it is said. In the Uttaratantra it says: The limit of the great perfection of self-nature, by leaving all phenomena in their own place, appearance and awareness, the nature of reality, are united, primordial liberation is immediate abiding in itself.
