Even if virtuous deeds are performed, one only obtains the bodies and happiness of gods and humans in good realms, and eventually exhausts them and revolves in samsara. If non-virtuous deeds are done, they ripen into suffering in the three lower realms, and one revolves in samsara again and again, with no opportunity for liberation. The Kyungchen says: "Entrusting trust to the clever mind does not go beyond the three realms." And the Kunjed says: "If you do not practice the great medicine of unwavering equanimity, then the cause of going to higher realms will be seized by afflictions, and you will revolve forever and never find peace free from dust." Binding to the intention of the Dharmakaya, which is free from action, is when the continuum of virtue and non-virtue ceases, and in the nature of reality, there is no coming together or separation. That is the yoga of the great secret of certainty, and because there is no effort, one goes to the primordial ground and attains the palace of the primordial Dharmakaya king. Without doing any good or bad, the yogi who abides in the state of awareness, empty and clear like the sky, is said to have attained the palace of the Dharmakaya king, which is to abide in the self-abiding state of primordial purity. The Heap of Jewels says: "This nature of reality without a basis, to rest without effort is wonderful." And the Kunjed says: "As it appears, so it is one in suchness. Do not let anyone alter this. In that unmade, equal king, abides the intention of the non-conceptual Dharmakaya." Gathering the meaning: Therefore, when the appearance of phenomena is found, the conventions of clinging to fabricated names and meanings, and the actions of accepting and rejecting good and bad, cause and effect, whoever knows that there are no phenomena and no actions like the sky, binds all phenomena into the non-existent dharma. The self-appearance of awareness, existence, samsara, nirvana, ground, path, and fruit, all appearances, words, and thoughts, are bound in the moment of appearance as never having existed. Just as the moon in water is bound in the moment of appearance as never having become the moon. Awareness is also bound as empty, clear, transparent, primordially empty, like the sky, so that the unmade state, the unadulterated clarity, is known as the self-illumination of meditation. As the Kunjed says: "Alas! Great Bodhisattva, if you wish to accomplish your own mind, because it is accomplished without desire, do not abide in non-conceptual equanimity. The self abides in a place without acceptance or rejection. It naturally abides in a state without movement. The mind is the essence of what is as it is, and all phenomena are accomplished in suchness, as it is."

Do not fabricate anew. Do not seek outside of your own nature. If you seek, even the Buddhas will not find it in the expanse. Because it has already been done, there is no need to do it now. Because it has already been accomplished, there is no need to accomplish it now. Do not discriminate, do not contemplate, rest in equanimity. O great bodhisattva, listen! Even the Buddhas of the past did not seek the Dharma outside of their own minds. They never altered the suchness. They never meditated on conceptual samadhi. One's own mind is accomplished through non-discrimination. Those who are present now and those who will come in the future will also be accomplished through non-discriminating equanimity. Thus it is said. Now, from the practice of establishing all phenomena as devoid of inherent existence with the wisdom of certainty, begin with the practice of non-attachment to extremes. The essence of the meaning of practicing non-existence is: All phenomena of samsara and nirvana, without inherent existence, transcend the phenomena of existence. Appearance is unceasing, transcending the phenomena of non-existence. Because there is neither existence nor non-existence, it transcends both phenomena. Because there is no "two," it transcends the phenomena of non-duality. Because there is neither "is" nor "is not," for the essence of meaning, it cannot be indicated as "this," transcending all thought and expression. Awareness and all phenomena that appear within it are certain to be without inherent existence, thus transcending existence. Appearance is unceasing, thus transcending non-existence. Because existence and non-existence are not established, it transcends being two. Because non-duality also does not exist, it transcends its designation. Whatever appears, whatever arises, from the very beginning, it abides in the view of self-liberation of the four extremes. From Awareness Self-Liberation: The stains of the four extremes are self-liberated. Thus it is said. From Awareness Self-Arising: Like a mirage moving on water, it is not non-existent, nor is it existent. Because it transcends both existence and non-existence, the realized one has no memory in mind. The essence of awareness is unborn, the nature of appearance is unceasing, the characteristic of awareness is without substance, the fruit of awareness is unconditioned. Thus it is said. Practicing compassion in the place of clinging to characteristics shows transcendence of clinging. Thus, the nature of reality is primordially pure, without acceptance or rejection, the children of meaning are constantly bound by clinging to their own views. They are greatly afflicted by clinging to conceptual signs. They are greatly confused by clinging to non-existence as self. They are greatly exhausted by clinging to the directionless as a direction. They constantly wander in samsara.
