Alas, how pitiful! The nature of reality, from the very beginning, is without action, without acceptance or rejection. Yet, childish beings, with their diverse views, obscure the eye of suchness. Those attached to the eight lower vehicles cling to their own doctrines, thus afflicted. Their minds are deluded by doctrines that grasp at characteristics, and they are exhausted by clinging to biased views. Wandering in the cycle of grasping and being grasped, they are shown compassion. From the Mirror of the Mind of Kuntuzangpo: "Buddhas are not created, they arise from their own nature, but you err by meditating and striving for Buddhahood. Enlightenment abides in a state of non-thought, but you err by creating compounded virtues. The King of Secret Mantras transcends words, but you err by clinging to words and letters. The essence of meaning is without birth or death, but you err by clinging to birth and death. The Dharmakaya is free from all thoughts, but you err by stirring up various thoughts. The Sambhogakaya is unmixed, clear in every way, but you err by clinging to the delusion of samsara. The Nirmanakaya appears in accordance with sentient beings, but you err by clinging to the forms of beings. The three kayas are of a nature without coming together or separating, but you err by seeing the three kayas as multiple. View and meditation are inseparable, of a single nature, but you err by seeing view and meditation as three. All phenomena are of the nature of awareness, but you err by seeing phenomena as mind. The essence of enlightenment is without error or obscuration, where is there clinging to error and obscuration? From the beginning, there is no error, there is utterly no obscuration. The Dharmakaya is free from obscuration, but you are tormented by clinging to error and obscuration as two. The Dharmakaya is unborn, arising from its own nature, but you are utterly confused by hoping to find it from elsewhere. Unborn awareness, free from thought, is pointed out by words and letters, how utterly foolish! Wisdom is unceasing, arising from its own nature, this mind of ignorant delusion is utterly miserable!" Thus it is said. To repeat that good and evil, cause and effect, are transcended: The self-arisen awareness is the ultimate sun, obscured by clouds of both good and evil, black and white. Struck by the lightning of acceptance and rejection, effort and attachment. The illusion of pleasure and pain pours down like a stream of rain, causing the seeds of samsara and the leaves of the six realms to flourish. Alas, the wretched beings of the six realms, how pitiful! In the summer season, rain clouds, lightning, and rain

Just as the sun's orb is obscured by (clouds), the clouds accumulated by virtuous and non-virtuous actions, accompanied by the lightning of effort in acceptance and rejection, rain down showers of varying happiness and suffering, obscuring the self-arisen wisdom dharmakaya, the sun of true meaning, so that one wanders perpetually in samsara, seen as an object of compassion by the yogi who realizes that very nature. As the Great Garuda says: In the uncreated, unconditioned, groundless state, to manipulate the body, clear sensation binds appearance. In the impartial, undivided, mindless state, conceptual speculation binds reality. In the naturally liberated, effortless, unmaintained, unassured state, attachment to experience binds realization. In the unsearched, naturally abiding, essential state, reliance on cause and effect scriptures obscures awareness. So it is said. The great teacher Heshang said that although it was not accepted by those of inferior intelligence at that time, it remains so in reality. The secret does not enter the mind of the lower vehicle.

Both virtue and vice are equal as obscurations of awareness. Therefore, the yogi who realizes this cherishes being beyond all causes and effects of virtue and vice. In the meaning of awareness, like the naked Dharmakaya awakening, like the essence of the sun that is not stained by anything, cannot be represented in any way, and is beyond everything, holding onto it as Dharma, attachment, and all actions are the same as obscurations and bondages, without any difference. Just as white clouds also obscure, black clouds also obscure, gold shackles also bind, and rope shackles also bind. As it is said in the Golden Script: "Gold shackles and rope shackles are equal in binding." Thus it is. The Vajrasattva Heart Mirror says: "Know that all the Dharmas of awareness are free from the mind of self-grasping. Likewise, let all Dharmas be without cessation. Let anything that is without cessation appear. Let anything that appears be without arising. Let that which is without arising be without going and coming. Let that which is without going and coming be without duality. Let that which is without duality be great liberation. Likewise, let all Dharmas not think or contemplate anything. Let all Dharmas abide in the nature of clarity and non-distraction." The song of the essential meaning is: "Self-born wisdom arises from within, the darkness of the names of cause and effect dissipates, since there are no clouds of virtue and vice, the true sun of Dharmadhatu space arises. This is the ultimate song of meaning, established by the ten natures of non-existence, surpassing all vehicles of cause and effect. The self-born Dharmakaya is established like space, the Dharma of cause and effect, like the darkness of night, is self-liberated, when the Dharma of virtue and vice, like clouds, is self-purified, in the space of Dharmadhatu meaning, the sun of luminous essence arises, this is the nature of Dharma. With the ten natures of non-existence manifestly clear, like the example of the sun rising in the pure ordinary space." The All-Creating King says: "The essence of all, this Bodhicitta, is spontaneously accomplished from the beginning, by its own nature, there is no need to seek and practice with the ten natures. My nature, all examples are like space, in space, all do not make effort, in space, all seek, space is beyond all effort and practice. That
