Beyond grasping. That which is free from cause and effect, virtue and vice, without the ripening of karmic imprints, is the single, utterly clear intention of Samantabhadra. As the great garuda soars in the sky: There is nothing to observe in the mind, no one sees the reason. Therefore, what is the use of virtue that is free from sin? Unite with the original source of one's own tradition. Thus it is said. Explaining the meaning of realizing "non-existence" is: The illusory yogi, in the self-appearing awareness, the non-existent dharmas arise unceasingly as play. From the moment of arising, it is determined to be non-existent, therefore, there is no taking or rejecting, no effort is made. The heart is open, the mind is at ease, abiding in great ease. For the yogi who realizes all dharmas as self-appearing illusions, in the play of non-appearance, the original growth of the meaning of ease is attained. Entrusting everything, existence and non-existence, to the sharp awareness, the ease of the yogi's liberation is blissful compared to ordinary, self-satisfied beings. As the great garuda says: Entrusting everything to the sharp mind does not transcend the three realms. Who can relax in the unadorned appearance of foolishness? This does not abide in samsara or nirvana. Thus it is said. Explaining that not realizing "non-existence" is a fault of the lower vehicles: The child deceived by "non-existence," like a wild animal, thirstily pursues a mirage. In the false words of convention, hoping to find meaning, each sect binds itself with dharma. Because the eight levels of delusion are not cut off, the true essence of meaning is not seen. Just as a wild animal mistakes a mirage for water and suffers, so too are childish beings tormented by the dharma they grasp. The eight lower vehicles each cling to their own dharma, thus suffering and not touching the essence of meaning, this is the same. Among them, the self-grasping refers to the mind's fabrication of grasping and clinging, attachment and aversion, at will. Dharma-grasping refers to the defilement of ultimate clinging to the view, meditation, conduct, and result of each sect's mental dharmas, which do not exist in objects but are fabricated by the mind. These are the same as the state of ordinary people, non-Buddhists, and the eight lower vehicles who have not realized the true nature. As the great garuda says: Without a basis, clinging to the path, who would want to attain the fruit? Because of wanting to attain the fruit, it obscures the state of liberation. Emptiness, darkness, clarity, and existence and non-existence themselves, permanence and annihilation, cause and effect, these four are eight in total, the same as the boundless expanse of space. Who is it that wants to strive for the edge?

Like a bird seeking the edge of the sky, it is unattainable. This meaning of unattainability, no one can change. This limitless knowable has no end. Thus it is. The nature of the meaning of non-existence is: Ati Yoga, the realm beyond Dharma. The nature of emptiness, where nothing exists, is: From this very moment, in the natural state of Dharmakaya, without wavering, in the primordial space, self-abiding, spontaneously accomplished in great bliss. The Great Perfection, the self-arisen wisdom, where nothing is accomplished, abiding as the great spontaneous accomplishment of emptiness and clarity, is: Abiding in the great primordial realm of Kadag, it is called the intention of the natural state of Dharmakaya. From the Tantra of the Heap of Jewels: From the emptiness of non-existence, the source of Dharma, In the self-realm of the Great Secret, From the very beginning, it abides, In the nature of non-grasping abode, Great play arises initially. In this, no one abides, In what place is it made to abide? In this, there is no perfection, Separate from dwelling and coming, Likewise, the state of Great Primordial Emptiness, From non-existence, the nature of realm, In this, there is neither outer nor inner, There is no seeing above or below, In direction or intermediate direction, no one, In this, there is not even a little to grasp, Who can realize this meaning of non-grasping? Buddha before me, The Buddha of the very first beginning, The state of non-abiding great wisdom, Even in the ground of the first beginning, The nature of abiding from the very beginning, without being established. The person who grasps this as a place, The secret mantra of all Buddhas, The essence of this, on Bodhi, Becomes the cause of grasping. Thus it is. Kadag's self-abiding state is determined as the place of Dharmakaya, the essence of Bodhi. Showing that one cannot attain Buddhahood through action: If the secret awareness of the meaning of intention is not realized, One will never be liberated by the Dharma of action, Do you not know that compounded things are impermanent and perishable? With the strong knot of body, speech, and mind, How can one touch the meaning of the indestructible essence? If one does not realize the meaning of self-aware Dharmakaya, one will not be liberated in this life by the Dharma of the three doors' effort, Dharma practice Becomes a binding knot, therefore awareness is bound and obscured, although one only obtains happiness as the result of practicing Dharma, because it is compounded, it perishes like a vase. The meaning of the indestructible Dharmakaya is never attained, action and non-action are contradictory. No
