The ground is diligent! Faults and obscurations are completely purified. Since there is no other above me, it is the unobscured, clear, and radiant wisdom. Even the appearances below the eight vehicles are the activities of my compassion. Undifferentiated wisdom abides in itself. With the undifferentiated and complete wisdom, the faults of falling are completely purified. Undifferentiated wisdom is self-illuminating. Faults and obscurations are clearly undifferentiated. Thus it is said. Transcending the teachings of the lower vehicles, it is shown that they have no characteristics: The mind-essence of enlightenment is like the sky, without direction or bias, and its nature is non-dual. There is no view or meditation, no vows to keep, no effort in activity, and no obscuration of wisdom. There is no training on the ground, and no path to traverse. There is no subtle dharma, no dualistic connection. Transcending imputation and slander, there is no dharma or non-dharma. Like a golden island, there is a realm without distinction. The self-born mind-essence is like the sky, its nature is non-existent, beyond all expression and speech. Since the self-face of awareness is not established anywhere, there are no teachings of view, meditation, conduct, and result, no training, progress, ground, and path, no generation and completion with characteristics, no vows with objects, no activities to be accomplished, and no wisdom to be excellently accomplished. Since there is no imputation or slander, there is no distinction between dharma and non-dharma. Whatever appears, whatever arises, everything is self-appearing, primordially liberated, and decisively pure. Just as when one goes to a precious golden island, one cannot find ordinary earth and stones, so too, the teachings of non-liberation, what is to be abandoned, and the views, meditations, and actions to be intentionally performed cannot be found. Everything is naked awareness, the exhaustion of dharma, self-appearance, the vast appearance of Sali, and the uninterrupted awareness. Therefore, the ten natures are without diligence and accomplishment. The All-Creating One says: This essence of all, the mind of enlightenment, is spontaneously accomplished from the beginning. The ten natures do not require diligence or accomplishment. My nature is like the sky in every way. On the sky, no one is diligent. On the sky, there is nothing for everyone to be diligent about. The sky is the creator of all, beyond diligence and accomplishment. Likewise, the essence of the All-Creating One, the mind of enlightenment, since I am beyond all realms of activity, there is nothing to see in me, and no meditation, naturally. Likewise, these ten natures are also beyond, and there is nothing to do to me.

Then, for those who possess the vehicle of cause and effect, wishing to see me and my nature, is like taking steps in the sky and falling to the ground. Progressing with the ten natures will lead to a fall. My nature is certain and its source is clear. I am beyond all realms of experience. Therefore, just as there is no view to cultivate, similarly, the ten natures are also meaningless. If one does not realize that the ten natures have meaning, I have no object to be seen by looking. Do not look, but abide in suchness itself. Free from elaboration, without cause for arising or separation, therefore, there is no need to guard vows and precepts. Because the essence is spontaneously accomplished from the beginning, there is no need for effort or practice. Because self-arisen wisdom is without obscuration, there is no need to newly generate the wisdom of awareness. Because all abide in my realm, there is no ground to traverse through cultivation. Because I pervade all, there is no path to make me traverse. Because I am primordially free from grasping and being grasped, I cannot be named as subtle. Because my form pervades all, there is no such thing as two. Because I am primordially self-arisen wisdom, all cannot define me. Because I am the essence of the bodhichitta of all beings, there are no secret instructions from elsewhere. Thus it is said. In the Meeting of the Three Kayas, it says: In the great expanse of the unceasing arising and ceasing, free from action, the great expanse without distinction, like the Golden Isle, the root that dispels the darkness of the extremes is bodhichitta. Although bodhichitta does not abandon the four extremes, the extremes cannot touch it, and it naturally transcends straying into error. Thus it is said. Now, the exposition of awareness transcending virtue, vice, cause, and effect: The essence of meaning is awareness, like a clear copper mirror. Because it cannot be altered, virtue cannot increase it. Because it cannot be changed, vice cannot harm it. Because there is no karmic result, there is no happiness or suffering of maturation. Because there is no good or bad, there is no abandoning or adopting of samsara and nirvana. Because it is beyond thought and expression, it is separate from emptiness. Because there is no before or after, lifetimes are merely labels. Who takes what, and who wanders where? What karma, and what is the ripened fruit of that karma? Think and examine the meaning that is like space. Here, in the precious copper letters, look intently at the meaning of awareness! Are there ten virtues to be practiced? Are there vows to be kept?
