The Dharmakaya is utterly pure and empty, and appearances arise in earth, water, fire, wind, and space. Although they appear as signs to the unenlightened mind, appearances are without inherent nature, clear as the radiance of wisdom. For example, a rainbow appears clearly in the sky, but it is not separate from the sky; it only appears to be separate. The nature of space abides in space, indistinguishable like space itself. The nature of reality, the Dharmakaya, is inseparable from space. The radiance of wisdom arises spontaneously, appears spontaneously, and is self-illuminating. It appears as separate but is clear without cessation. Clear and without conceptualization is the wisdom Dharmakaya. The Sambhogakaya, the original Buddha, appears spontaneously to itself. The Nirmanakaya of compassion is utterly pure from the two extremes. Thus it is. Everything is shown as spontaneously accomplished Bodhicitta. Even when the basis of manifestation arises from it, the pure three bodies are the self-manifestation of the Victorious Ones, and all impure appearances of the container and its contents are the emptiness of their own nature, the clarity of various kinds. The play of the Dharma, Enjoyment, and Emanation bodies, these three bodies of the basis of manifestation are the power of play. Self-manifestation is spontaneously accomplished; it is not sought from elsewhere. Having properly understood the distinctions of these, may all phenomena of samsara and nirvana be realized as the spontaneously accomplished three bodies, in the nature of Bodhicitta. Furthermore, all phenomena are shown to be the nature of the spontaneously accomplished three bodies. The basis is spontaneously accomplished, and the essence of the three bodies is one. As has just been said, the appearances of the container and its contents, samsara and nirvana, arising from that nature, are the combination of the basis of manifestation and the three bodies arising as play, and are called the spontaneously accomplished three bodies. In the play, the pure Dharmakaya of the Buddha has the five families of the Sambhogakaya, and the Emanation Body appears in various forms. All that appears in the impure samsaric body, speech, and mind is the Emanation Body, Sambhogakaya, and Dharmakaya, which are emptiness, spontaneously accomplished in one realm. Since there is no good or bad, all are called the adornment and play of the spontaneously accomplished realm. In "Subduing the Six Assemblies," it says: "The nature of mind is spontaneously accomplished, the unchanging expanse of space. The play is unfixed, the expanse of the miraculous power of compassion. Apart from the adornment of the realm, there is no other place to obstruct anything." Thus it is. Everything is shown as Bodhicitta. The bodies and wisdom of the Buddhas of the three times, the bodies, speech, and minds of sentient beings of the three realms, actions and afflictions, all phenomena of existence and non-existence, are nothing other than Bodhicitta. Like the essence of gold,

It is amazing to be made into an idol, beautiful to be made into ornaments and bracelets, and even if it is considered dirty when made into a poor copper vessel, its essence is the same in the nature of gold. Just as there is no good or bad in the nature of gold, the pure is the Buddha, the impure is sentient beings, and however karma and habitual tendencies appear, they are merely separately labeled from the state of mind. Since the mind of enlightenment and its power are one in essence, there is no good or bad in the mind of enlightenment. In the *All-Creating King* it says, "Buddhas, sentient beings, karma, and habitual tendencies, there is no other dharma apart from the mind of enlightenment." So it is said. What is taught in the treasury of all spontaneous perfections is: From the spontaneously perfect space, The basis from which all arises. All appearances of beings, inside and out, Appear as the unconditioned body, a wheel of adornment. The sounds that are heard, high, medium, and low, Appear as the unconditioned speech, a wheel of adornment. All minds and wisdoms, realizations and non-realizations, Appear as the unconditioned mind, a wheel of adornment. Since qualities and activities arise without bias, It is the wish-fulfilling jewel, the precious realm of dharma. There is no need to seek it, as all is self-arisen. It is called spontaneously perfect, self-arisen wisdom. The nature of awareness and the self-arising of the phenomena of samsara and nirvana from within it also arise without being sought from the beginning. From the body, speech, and mind of the Buddha, qualities, and activities, to the actions of the body, speech, and mind of sentient beings, all appear as a self-manifesting wheel of adornment. Therefore, from one arises all, it is called spontaneously perfect jewel. From the great pure ground, there are six ways of arising. Appearing in the manner of two doors and eight, therefore, the self-manifestation of the ground, the power and qualities of beings, environment, samsara, and nirvana are: In the *Heap of Jewels* it says: "The establishment of spontaneous perfection is uncertain, it arises in the manner of eight appearances. Since its manner of appearance is uninterrupted, from the manner of appearance like compassion, it is the place of protection for all sentient beings. From the self-luminous and unceasing appearance, it appears as the manner of illuminating the five lights. Since the appearing aspect of knowledge is uninterrupted, in the very door of pure wisdom, appearance is unceasing, appearing like a path. Since the self-appearing body is all complete, it appears as the body of all dharmas. Since the nature of knowing is one, it also appears as non-dual. Since it itself has no place to abide, therefore, in the appearance of great liberation."
