Sa. The meaning of the spontaneously arising great bliss, free from grasping thoughts. If one sees the truth of the Buddha, one is a child of the Victorious Ones. If realization dawns within, one is always happy. If the elements arise as friends, appearances are pure. Thus it is said. The meaning is summarized as follows: At the very moment when the senses and mind are engaged with objects, the mind is relaxed, and appearances are blissful and expansive. Not bound by grasping, in self-clarity and self-illumination, the great key point of uninterrupted relaxation is bound. In short, at the moment of objective appearance, when sensory consciousness arises, without deliberately binding it with grasping, but maintaining it in a state of blissful, expansive, self-illumination and clarity without distraction, this is called binding the key point of relaxation. This is for the sake of liberation from deliberately focusing and grasping in a limited way. The Great Garuda says: The key point of enjoying objects in the three encounters is to bind whatever arises without abandoning it in the space between object and mind. Thus it is said. Now, as for binding in the bond of relaxation, establishing the primordial self-arisen expanse of the Vajra realm of relaxation: In the sky where grasping of object and mind has ceased, that awareness free from memory, thought, seeking, and anger, to bind relaxation in a bond of self-clarity is the unrestrained, unobstructed conduct of the Vajra of Dharmata. Such is the wisdom of equality with the expanse of Suchness, establishing the self-arisen intention of Samantabhadra from the beginning. In the state of awareness, uninterrupted like the sky, whatever appears of object and mind is unborn, bound from the beginning by the Vajra bond. Whatever appears of appearance and knowledge is realized as the play and expression of awareness, and without acceptance or rejection, allowing it to unfold in great expanse is the binding, which is the Vajra bond of awareness. From appearance, in the state of awareness, there is nothing other than the arising of awareness within awareness. Awareness is the victory banner at the summit of the Vajra wisdom, the sun that never sets. The Lion's Complete Power says: Emaho! Self-awareness, Vajra wisdom, blazing everywhere. Signless self-appearance, Vajra, blazing everywhere. The blazing, fearless Vajra, great emptiness. Subtle and coarse Vajra, stainless, utterly blazing. Emptiness, all-pervading Vajra, great crown jewel. Limitless Vajra, uncreated, nature complete. Limitless Vajra, free from guarding vows. Thus it is said. Explaining the general bond of Bodhicitta: Just as various dreams are bound by sleep, and are self-appearances of unreal emptiness, so all phenomena of container and contents, samsara and nirvana, are bound by mind. Appearing in the vast mind, they are without substance. Whatever appears in a dream is bound in the state of sleep and is unreal emptiness.

Therefore, just as it appears, all phenomena that appear as the container and essence of samsara and nirvana are bound by the mind of enlightenment, and it should be understood that the absence that appears as mind is the play of clear awareness. As it says in the Kun Byed: "All that is contained in the appearance of existence, the container and essence, and all that is contained in the Buddhas and sentient beings, is made by me, the All-Creating Enlightenment. Everything is nothing but the mind of enlightenment. There is nothing else to do, and there is nothing else to do. Therefore, everything is shown as the mind of enlightenment. This is to show the necessity of the root meaning." So it is. The vow of self-nature is: "In the expanse of space, all the vast containers and essences, without beginning or end, are like the uninterrupted expanse. In the expanse of awareness, all appearances of objects and minds, inside and outside, are bound to self-appearing emptiness. This is the vow that all dharmas are bound by the mind of enlightenment. The expanse is shown to be impartial, free from grasping and clinging." Just as the container world is vast, with the six kinds of sentient beings, countless and infinite, it is also bound in the expanse of one great space. The inconceivable dharmas of appearance, existence, samsara, and nirvana are also bound by the great primordial purity of awareness. Therefore, it should be realized that in the face of awareness, there is nothing other than the appearance of emptiness. As it says in the Kun Byed: "All the dharmas that appear, and the self-mind and dharmata are originally one. Therefore, do not understand this according to the law of cause and effect. Examine the self-mind as it is. The nature of self-enlightenment is appearance." So it is. Klongchenpa said: "Because the object of the vast mind is great, there is not one that does not abide." So it is. The essence of the self-appearing dharma is emptiness, and the nature of mind is emptiness. Because emptiness is of the same kind, it is said that the great emptiness binds in one realm. The vow of awareness that is free from thought and expression is: "The mind of enlightenment that binds all dharmas is also bound by the great impartiality that is without partiality or bias. Like the vast sky that binds the container and essence, it is without beginning or end, beyond all thought and expression." All dharmas are bound by awareness, and ignorance is without limit, without partiality, without interruption, bound by that which is beyond thought and expression, showing the self-nature of pure expanse, like the sky. As it says in the Kun Byed: "All dharmas are the nature of the sky. The nature of the sky is suchness. The nature of the three kayas abides as suchness. All are that."
