Ah! Bodhicitta is fundamentally without thought; the absence of thought is the mind of the Buddhas of the three times. Thus it is said. The meaning of showing the exhaustion of emptiness is: In the state of emptiness, everything is returned, and nature transcends the boundary of affirmation and negation. Like the emptiness of the container and its contents in the state of space, affirmation and negation, attachment and aversion, vanish into the original realm. Here, there is no trace of thoughts that come and go, and in the uninterrupted state of awareness, emptiness is boundless, surpassing the endless boundaries of hope and fear. It is the falling off of the peg of the mind that grasps the subject and object, and the city of illusory samsara is empty. Just as clouds arise from the sky and vanish into the sky, all phenomena initially arise from the realm and ultimately dissolve into the realm. Having realized this, all that arises from the mind and mental factors, such as affirmation and negation, attachment and aversion, are returned to the original source of arising—the empty bindu—thereby awakening the illusion of the mind's samsara in original purity. The key is to abide in self-emptiness, impartiality, and emptiness. In the self-liberation of characteristics, it says: On a single bindu, the reason is returned, and the hope and fear of the result are cut off, equal to space. Vast, so great, equal to space is the mind of the Buddhas. There is no abandonment or attainment, it is the realm of a single bindu. Liberated in its own place, there is no realization or non-realization. Thus it is said. The conclusion is: Therefore, all external phenomena and the playful skill of the way the inner self-mind appears, whoever knows that all is emptiness, has explained all dharmas at the key point of emptiness. All dharmas have not transcended awareness and the two skillful means of awareness. The nature of awareness is without thought, word, or elaboration, and it is the source of all dharmas, therefore it is without limitation or partiality, it is boundless emptiness. The skillful means of awareness is that all external phenomena are grasped as one's own radiance, just as a woman seen before appears in a dream. The inner eight consciousnesses and all mental factors are grasped as the unceasing door of compassion appearing. All that appears as the duality of subject and object is the skillful means of awareness's self-appearance, appearing like ornaments and play. All of these are actually non-existent, like the empty form that appears clearly, not established anywhere inside or outside, and emptiness is boundless in the non-existent dharmas, therefore, from the realization of self-nature, without directly abandoning, it is liberated in its own place, like the appearance of a dream and illusion. As it says in the Great Garuda: From the beginning, it is biased.

The mind without a place to fall into, where do appearances of samsara and the lower realms arise? Like unreal dreams, illusions, and cities of gandharvas, false appearances cannot possess the power of truth here. So it is said. Now, regarding the cessation and binding in the expanse, first, the cessation and binding in the expanse of Samantabhadra, who is without grasping and being grasped: In the self-aware, empty, and clear expanse of wisdom, the meanings of dharmata are ceased and bound. Unbound by grasping, it transcends the realm of what is grasped. Without a target or object of focus, it is wide open and vast. The intention of non-distraction and exhaustion of thoughts is like the sky, vast and limitless, without meditation or non-meditation. This is the great expanse of Samantabhadra's intention. Whatever awareness arises in appearance, without continuing the train of thoughts and concepts, but leaving it self-liberated, naked, and wide open, is the cessation and binding in the vast, uninterrupted expanse of the meaning of Samantabhadra's intention. As the Great Garuda says: "Liberation upon seeing, self-purified, free from extremes, completely perfect. By what is free from extremes, the two cessations are self-illuminated. The actionless great expanse is the cessation of not seeking greatness. Body and speech are actionless, bound between appearance and emptiness." So it is said. The cessation and binding of the wide-open six consciousnesses in their natural state: In this vast expanse of empty and clear awareness, without obstructing its nature, whatever variety appears, with the senses directly seeing, awareness is the clarity of dharmata. Appearance is wide open, whatever awareness arises is bliss. The six consciousnesses are naturally free in the expanse of self-arisen wisdom. Transparent, without inside or outside, it is luminous. Unfabricated, spontaneously accomplished in the great natural state. When the nature of awareness, empty and clear, is left wide open in the great self-illuminated, non-grasping state, external appearances are wide open, the self-illuminated six consciousnesses are naturally free, appearing in the realm of appearance but not established in the realm of grasping, they are completely flat. In the realm of the unborn, clarity without cessation is the luminosity without inside or outside, in the great unfabricated natural state, like reflections appearing on the surface of a clear ocean. In the absence of letters, it says: "The intention of resting like the ocean is: It is not appearance, nor is it the maker of appearance. It is not emptiness, nor does it exist in emptiness. It is not clarity, but the realm of great clarity. It is not sinking, nor is there naturally agitation. It does not move, it does not shift, it does not change. It does not move, it does not move, it transcends all movement. It does not arise from action, look at the great way of resting. Without contraction or expansion, in the nature of resting in one taste. It is not abiding, nor is there transcendence of it. Like the ocean of secret wisdom, it is spontaneously present from the beginning."
