Location. The nature of mind is the essence of suchness, all phenomena are established in suchness. Do not fabricate beyond suchness, do not seek beyond the essence itself. If you search, you will not find it in the realm of the Victorious Ones. Since it has already been done in the past, there is no need to do it now. Since it has already been accomplished in the past, there is no need to accomplish it now. In non-thought, do not think of anything, rest in equanimity. O great Bodhisattva, listen! Even the Buddhas of the past did not seek Dharma outside of their own minds, they never fabricated beyond suchness, they never meditated on conceptual samadhi. One's own mind is accomplished through non-thought. Those who dwell now and those who will come in the future will be accomplished through the equality of non-thought. Thus it is said. Now, after the definite understanding that all phenomena are without inherent existence has arisen, without the practice of intention, first, the practice without clinging to extremes is: The essence of the meaning of non-intention is: All phenomena of appearance, existence, samsara, and nirvana, are without inherent existence, transcending the Dharma of existence. Appearance is unceasing, transcending the Dharma of non-existence. Without existence or non-existence, transcending the Dharma of both. Without two, transcending the Dharma of non-duality. Without being or not being, therefore, in the essence of meaning, it cannot be pointed out as "this," transcending all thought and expression. Awareness and all the phenomena that appear within it are beyond existence because of their definite nature. Appearance is unceasing, so it transcends non-existence. Since existence and non-existence are not established, it transcends duality. Since non-duality does not exist either, it transcends its designation, whatever appears, whatever arises, from the very beginning, it abides in the view of self-liberation from the four extremes. From Awareness Self-Liberation: The stains of the four extremes are self-purified. Thus it is said. From Awareness Self-Arising: Like a mirage flowing on water, it is not non-existent, nor is it existent. Because it transcends both existence and non-existence. The realized one has no memory in mind, the essence of awareness is without birth, the nature of appearance is without cessation, the characteristic of awareness is without substance, the fruit of awareness is unconditioned. Thus it is said. By practicing in the place of compassion for the object of clinging, it is shown to transcend clinging: Thus, the nature of Dharma is pure from the beginning, without acceptance or rejection, but the children of meaning are always bound by clinging to their own views. They are extremely confused by clinging to concepts and names. There is no self.

How deluded to cling to this! How exhausting to grasp the directionless as directional! How pitiable to wander constantly in samsara! The nature of reality is primordially without action, without acceptance or rejection. Like children, with various views, obscuring the eye of suchness, those attached to the eight lower vehicles, afflicted by clinging to their own doctrines as self, confused by doctrines that grasp at characteristics, exhausted by clinging to directions. It shows how pitiable it is to wander in the wheel of grasping and being grasped in samsara. From the Mirror of the Mind of Samantabhadra: Buddhas uncreated arise from themselves, By meditating and striving for Buddhahood, you err. Bodhi abides in a state of non-thought, By creating contrived virtues, you err. The King of Secret Mantras transcends words, By clinging to words and letters, you err. The essence of meaning is without birth or death, By clinging to birth and death, you err. The Dharmakaya is free from all thoughts, By stirring up various thoughts, you err. The Sambhogakaya is unmixed, clearly apparent in everything, By clinging to delusion in samsara, you err. The Nirmanakaya appears in accordance with sentient beings, By clinging to the form of beings, you err. The three Kayas are the nature of inseparable union, By seeing the three Kayas as separate, you err. View and meditation are the nature of indivisible oneness, By seeing view and meditation as three, you err. All phenomena are the nature of awareness, By seeing phenomena as mind, you err. The essence of Bodhi is without error or obscuration, Where is there clinging to error and obscuration? Primordially there is no error, there is no obscuration at all. The Dharmakaya is free from obscuration, How tormented to cling to error and obscuration as two! The Dharmakaya is unborn, arising from itself, By hoping for it to exist from elsewhere, you are completely deluded. Unborn awareness, free from thought, To point it out with words and letters is truly laughable. Wisdom, unobstructed, arises from itself, This mind of ignorance and delusion is truly pitiful. So it is said. To repeat that one is beyond good, evil, and karmic results: In the self-arisen awareness, the sun of ultimate truth, The clouds of both good and evil, black and white, obscure it. The lightning of clinging to acceptance, rejection, effort, and striving torments it. The continuous rain of illusory experiences of pleasure and pain falls, The seeds of samsara are the six realms of beings.
