Grasping the essentials, the two transmissions that clarify the scriptures and reasoning are explained as the manner in which a flower blooms. The eighth chapter of the Vajrasattva Heart Mirror Tantra explains the instructions on introduction, empowerment, and vows. The seventh chapter of the Samantabhadra Mind Mirror explains the discernment of errors and obscurations. The third chapter of Introduction Adorned explains the generation of faith in examples and meanings. The eighth chapter of the Pearl Garland explains liberation through various methods of oral instructions. Thus, the four great tantras of oral instruction explain the manner in which fruit ripens. The Six Spaces explain the purification of the six realms in their own places through the Six Spaces. The Blazing Lamp explains the four lamps in the fourth chapter. The Union of Sun and Moon explains the bardo in the fourth chapter. Thus, the three tantras of self-existing wisdom explain the manner of the seeing eye. The thirteenth chapter of the Lion's Perfected Power Tantra explains the unbiased view. The fourteenth chapter of the Jewel Array Tantra explains entering the path. Thus, the two tantras of entering self-liberation explain the manner of the heart as the basis of memory. The Tantra of the Rituals of the Wise, explained by Glorious Black Wrathful Mother, explains the expansion of the activity of protecting the teachings, like a good dog guarding the home. Thus, the eighteen tantras are summarized into eight sections and explained, which is established according to intention. If the two root tantras are missing, it is like a tree whose roots are rotten, so branches, leaves, and fruit cannot grow. If the two explanatory tantras are missing, it is like having no leaves, so flowers cannot appear. If the two branch tantras are missing, it is like a one-armed person cannot accomplish anything. If the two tantras of entering self-liberation are missing, it is like a corpse without a heart. If the two tantras that clarify the scriptures and reasoning are missing, it is like having no flowers, so fruit cannot be produced. If the four tantras of oral instruction are missing, it is like cultivating without fruit, so it is meaningless. If the three tantras of self-existing wisdom are missing, it is like not seeing things without eyes. If the Tantra of the Rituals of the Wise is missing, it is like having no guard, so enemies and thieves invade. Thus, if the eight essentials are missing, the conditions for one teaching are not complete. Even if there are more than that, there is no need, so it is determined as eight, and the order of meaning is also determined, and that is the reason. On the meaning of each of these

Saying "zug pa" is like a root, it means that the root is integrated into self-born wisdom. Saying "gyas pa" is like leaves, it means the intermingling of words and meanings. Saying "yan lag" is like a trunk, it means the non-duality of space and wisdom. Saying "lung rig" is like a blooming flower, it means directly grasping the self-nature of the lamp. Saying "man ngag" is like a ripe fruit, it means using the three bodies as the path. Saying "dgongs pa rang gnas" is like seeing the path of liberation, it means the key point of direct perception. Saying "'jug pa rang grol" is to elevate mindfulness and wisdom into the path, it means recognizing the self-nature of the lamp. The ritual of the wise is intended to protect the Dharma. Thus, it is fully explained through eight kinds of intentions. The fruit of these is gathered in the root of awareness, and awareness is emptiness, free from grasping. Holding that tantra as self-awareness, one can encounter wisdom. Holding it, one abides in self-nature meditation. Reading it, the meaning appears in the mind. Speaking it, one can fulfill the needs of oneself and others. Meditating on it, one can uproot samsara. Listening to it, one can touch the essence of the meaning. The tantra of speaking is like lush leaves, it is the arising of non-conceptual wisdom based on the proliferation of words. The six aggregates of the branch tantra, in the realm of appearances, show the naked liberation of the five gates, like stars appearing in the ocean. With clear teachings, the words of the Victorious Ones and the true awareness are integrated into the yogi's stream of consciousness, like a flower blooming. The oral instruction tantra, with the proliferation of words and meanings, determines the key point, like enlightenment is like a ripe fruit. The intention of self-abiding, taking the intention beyond the session as a continuous river day and night, is like an eye. Entering self-liberation is when awareness enters appearance, appearance is liberated in its own nature, so entering is self-awakening. Awareness is liberated in appearance, so it is self-arising and self-liberating. Appearance and mind are liberated in non-duality, so non-dual impartiality is like the heart. The tantra of the wise ritual, because it has determined the key point of the Matrikas, can subdue the opponents and protect one's own side, like a watchdog. Thus, keeping the meaning of the eight categories in mind, one can encounter wisdom. Holding it, one can abide in meditation. Reading it, one can understand the ultimate meaning. Speaking it, one can dispel the darkness of oneself and others. Meditating on it, one can dry up the ocean of samsara. Listen
