There is also no opportunity to train the faculties. The fifth is that the dull-witted do not degenerate from dwelling in bliss and have the opportunity to train the faculties. The opportunity for realization is to be able to obtain the higher fruit. The sixth is that the sharp-witted will not degenerate from dwelling in the bliss of the visible dharma. All six of these exist in the desire realm. In the two upper realms, there are only two who abide in the nature of immovability and non-oscillation. These are the teachings on the support with remainder. The remainderless is like a fire with exhausted firewood, without a body at the time of passing into sorrowless state, and the wisdom of the cessation of mind enters into the realm of cessation. As it says in the Collection of Specially Expressed Verses: "Where there is no body, consciousness ceases, all feelings are separated, formations are pacified, and consciousness is extinguished." The explanation of the Hearer's Ground is finished. Secondly, there are three paths of the Solitary Buddha: like a rhinoceros horn, great practice in the assembly, and small practice in the assembly. The first has five aspects. The difference in lineage is that the Solitary Buddha is divided into three types: those with sharp faculties, those with great pride and sorrow, and those with little compassion for the benefit of others, who like to abide alone like a rhinoceros horn. The difference in accumulating merit is that they accumulate merit for a hundred great eons, which are included in the path of accumulation. As it says in the Treasury: "The rhinoceros horn is the cause of a hundred eons." It should be known that there is no opportunity to attain enlightenment on the basis of accumulating merit. In order to accomplish the aspiration, one becomes learned in the world by hearing and thinking about the Hearer's Vinaya. May I be born in a field where there are no Buddhas or Hearers. May the realization of the path arise naturally in the continuum of that basis of birth. May I teach the Dharma to those to be tamed by means of bodily gestures, and may I not teach through the door of sound. Thus, three aspirations are made. The difference in accomplishing the path is as it says in the Root Wisdom: "When the perfect Buddhas have not appeared, and the Hearers have also perished, the wisdom of the Solitary Buddha arises without reliance, without relying on others." As it is said, after that birth, one is born in a world without Buddhas and Hearers, and from going to the charnel ground and seeing the bones, one immediately becomes disgusted with samsara. Alas!

Where do these sufferings come from? They come from aging and death. Where do aging and death come from? They come from birth, and so on. Thinking about the twelve links of dependent origination in their arising order, and contemplating how to be liberated from them. Furthermore, by the cessation of ignorance, actions cease, and from the cessation of actions up to aging and death, the root of the twelve links of dependent origination in their reverse order is severed. Knowing that all phenomena arise merely dependently, one cultivates the twelve links of dependent origination and the four noble truths, as well as the sixteen aspects such as impermanence, and the path of joining arises. Cultivating the four paths of joining as in the case of the Hearers, the sixteen moments of the path of seeing, which is the direct realization of the truths, and the path of cultivation arise like that of a Bodhisattva. After that, one manifests the two wisdoms of the knowledge of exhaustion and the knowledge of non-arising. Similarly, the way to manifest the five paths on one seat is the same as that of a Bodhisattva. The Treasury states: 'Warmth, peak, forbearance, the best in the world, all have enlightenment as their basis, ultimately relying on meditative concentration.' There are two distinctions in abiding: the distinction of bodily abiding is to abide alone like a rhinoceros horn, and the distinction of mental abiding is to abide while keeping in mind the twelve links of dependent origination, the thirty-seven factors of enlightenment, and the three doors of liberation. The twelve links of dependent origination are: ignorance, action, consciousness, name and form, six sense sources, contact, feeling, craving, grasping, becoming, birth, and aging and death, these are called the twelve links of dependent origination. Among them, not knowing is ignorance. Falling into samsara under its influence is action. From that arises the consciousness that originates from the basis of all beings, therefore it is consciousness. From that arise the individual sensations, thoughts, and actions, that is, the four aggregates, and the form on which they depend, that is, the five aggregates, which are name and form. Their basis is the six sense sources of eye, ear, nose, tongue, body, and mind. From that, the aggregation of the three, object, sense faculty, and attention, is contact. From that, feeling the three feelings of pleasure, pain, and neutrality, therefore it is feeling. From that, clinging to and rejecting individual objects such as wanting and not wanting, claiming them as one's own, is craving. From that, the desire for one's own desires arises, therefore taking the result is grasping. From that, in the next life, entering the womb is
