It is any one of them. In terms of nature, there are three aspects: cause, result, and essence. The first is the Great Vehicle's path of accumulation, as stated in the Madhyāntavibhāga: "Generating the part in accordance with liberation." The result is the three paths of seeing, cultivation, and no-more-learning. In terms of essence, there are four aspects: definition, basis, division, and distinguishing characteristics. The definition is: all the virtuous qualities belonging to the Great Vehicle that arise after the completion of the Great Vehicle's path of accumulation and before the path of seeing are designated as the Great Vehicle's path of application. Whatever arises after the completion of the Great Vehicle's path of accumulation and belongs to the Great Vehicle becomes the cause for the first moment of the Great Vehicle's path of seeing to arise in the mindstream. The divisions are the four: heat, peak, forbearance, and supreme dharma. In the two, heat and peak, one cultivates the five faculties, and in the two, forbearance and supreme dharma, one cultivates the five powers. As stated in the Madhyāntavibhāga: "For the faculties and the powers, two each are in accordance with the decisive factor." Among these, the five faculties are: the faculty of faith, the faculty of diligence, the faculty of mindfulness, the faculty of samādhi, and the faculty of wisdom. The way to cultivate them is as follows: after generating bodhicitta, one cultivates with faith in the meaning of the four truths, such as impermanence, or all phenomena of saṃsāra and nirvāṇa, knowing them as the two truths. One cultivates with diligence and joy, with mindfulness not forgetting what has been realized, with samādhi single-pointed concentration, and with wisdom knowing the nature. These are also called the faculties that generate the cause of purification. As stated in the same text: "Generating the part in accordance with liberation, one controls with desire and application, not forgetting the object, and also distinguishing without distraction." The five powers are the five, such as the power of faith, and the way to cultivate them is the same as with the faculties. These are also called the powers that destroy opposing factors. As stated in the Ornament for the Sutras: "Because opposing factors are weakened, those very ones are called powers." Thus, when cultivating the four parts of the path of application, the essence of the wisdom at the time of meditation, in terms of equipoise, is non-conceptual wisdom, and the subsequent attainment arising from that has both conceptual and non-conceptual aspects. Then, is the "conceptual" that possesses the four conceptual thoughts not conceptual? Answer: Possessing conceptual thoughts is conceptual.

Because someone with a hat will become someone wearing a hat, that's why they wear a hat. This is also because it's not called relying on these four kinds of conceptual thoughts. Because similar results follow from similar causes. In the "Commentary on the Names, Nectar Drops," it says: Just as a rice sprout will not grow from a Kota seed, similarly, non-conceptualization will not arise from conceptualization. Because this contradicts that. The details of these principles are explained in my book "The Jewel Staircase," so please refer to that book. The order of these wisdoms is also divided into three types: small, medium, and large, and is called the twelve kinds of decisive factors. As it says in the Ornament for Clear Realization: Thus, the decisive factors are small, medium, and large. And so on. These stages also have four levels. Obtaining the warmth of light is the worldly meditative wisdom that sees all phenomena as merely appearances of the mind. Slightly obtaining light acts as an antidote to grasping at reality. As it says in the Ornament of the Sutras: Thereafter, the Bodhisattva who has become like that, abiding in equipoise, does not see any phenomena at all except for the expressions of the mind. And so on. The peak, the proliferation of light, is the attainment of the intermediate worldly meditative light by diligently meditating on selflessness in order to increase the appearance of phenomena. As it says in that same text: In order to increase the appearance of phenomena, one should constantly engage with steadfast diligence. And so on. Patience, entering one aspect of suchness, is the attainment of the supreme worldly meditative light that abides in mind-only, which acts as an antidote to clinging to external reality. As it says in that same text: After the appearance of phenomena has increased, one will abide in mind-only. Thereafter, the appearance of all phenomena will completely appear as mind. At that time, by its object of grasping, that distraction will be abandoned. Thereafter, only the distraction of grasping at it will be gathered. And so on. The supreme mundane dharma is the complete worldly meditative light that is free from the distraction of grasping at reality, and it is the Mahayana path of seeing, and is not interrupted by anything else. As it says in that same text: At that time, one will quickly touch the samadhi that is without interruption. And so on. Among them, the warmth and peak are small, the path of seeing.
