Now, it is established through force in a definite manner. As the Lord of Knowledge said: 'Whatever has the ability to perform a function, that is truly existent here.' Thus it is said. In this way, by explaining the subject, the object to be refuted, and the reason, the object to be proven by the valid reason is: refuting the view that illusion and so on are all-encompassing observations, it is not so, it is merely negating the truly existent, which is a non-affirming negation that establishes. Moreover, that conceptualization also, the basis, the dharma, cuts off elaboration in a way that does not appear, and on the contrary, when proceeding to reason, the dharma does not appear, it is not so, because the dharma is not established by reason. And, for reason, it is impossible to appear and not be certain. Not being certain by reason is also because the wisdom of reason does not sever the superimposition on the dharma. If, with the measure of certainty of the dharma, the superimposition on the dharma is not severed, then it will be a fault that the dharma is not established. If it is severed, then reason cannot sever the superimposition on the dharma. Thus, reason, as the nature of inference, is the characteristic of unborn, free from elaboration, able to withstand examination, and ultimate truth, so the Svatantrika Madhyamikas assert. However, that way is still not conclusive, because with the sign of establishing that it does not exist ultimately but exists conventionally, it does not go beyond the entities of permanence and annihilation, and merely the reason determined by conceptualization cannot be the true meaning, and merely negating elaboration does not go beyond the distinctions of elaboration, and so on, it is harmed by many reasons. In the commentary on the Sixty Stanzas of Reasoning, it says: 'If one accepts that it exists conventionally, then it will become permanent, and if one thinks that it does not exist ultimately, then it will become annihilation,' and so on. And, if one thinks that the two truths are different entities, then, in one substance, just as it does not exist ultimately, it will also not exist conventionally, and just as there are many conventional existences, the ultimate will also become impermanent, and so on, and if it is established as a substance or essence, then it will be established simultaneously, and so on, there are many contradictions. Secondly, the tenets of the Prasangika Madhyamikas have three aspects: the distinction between deluded and non-deluded minds, the way of distinguishing the two truths in relation to that, and the way the Prasangikas cut off elaboration. The first is that of the teacher Nagarjuna.

Those such as Chandrakirti, the foremost of the disciples who hold the view of definitive meaning, assert as follows: In the equipoise of those who have attained the bhumis and in the Buddha-bhumi, since no appearance of knowable and knowing, etc., as object and subject, knowable and graspable, is established, the activity of the subject-wisdom is also pacified. At that time, all activities of mind and mental factors cease, and that inexpressible, unthinkable wisdom is designated as the correct, unerring intellect that realizes the nature of reality. As it says in the Engaging in the Bodhisattva Deeds: 'Since the nature of reality is unborn, and the intellect is also free from birth, therefore they depend on each other, and it is like reason itself by itself. Since the mind arises in the form of an object, that is its object; that is the most excellent reason, and likewise, convention depends on reason.' And: 'When all the dry firewood of the knowable is burned and pacified, it is the Dharmakaya, the form of the Victorious Ones. At that time, there is no birth and no cessation; the cessation of mind is the manifestation of the form.' And as it says in the Clear Words: 'Here, the proliferation of mind and mental factors also ceases.' That state is designated as the realization of ultimate truth, and its object is the natural state of reality, the element of reality, which is naturally pure. False vision, deluded intellect, is when ordinary beings have blurred vision due to the habitual tendencies of ignorance, like clinging to cataracts and falling hairs as real. The various joys and sufferings that appear in the abodes and enjoyments of the six realms are deluded dependent arisings, the appearances of grasper and grasped. In the post-meditation of those who have attained the bhumis, the appearances of the environment and beings, etc., that appear in common with others, and the two levels of intellect, such as mere appearances of sense consciousness and inference that infers fire, etc., appear in relation to measuring the appearances of the conventional. Among these, pure and impure sense faculties such as the eye are established as two types of conventional truth, as it says in that very text: 'False vision is of two types: clear sense faculties and sense faculties with defects. The knowledge of sense faculties with defects is considered to be inverted in relation to the sense faculties that are well.' Secondly, there are two ways of dividing into two truths: the nature to be known and knowing.
