Ra. Since the nature of the imputed does not exist, the signified imputed, which distinguishes different kinds, also does not exist. Third, is the knowledge of the absence of self of phenomena apparent or not apparent? If it is apparent, it cannot be emptiness because it is the substance of knowledge; if it is not apparent, it is not the object of valid cognition, so it is not necessarily a characteristic, therefore it is not appropriate to use the term "absence of self." Second, specific refutations are divided into two: it is not reasonable for multiple aspects to be known by one consciousness, and it is not reasonable for multiple aspects to be known by multiple consciousnesses. First, if it is said that the consciousness that appears as diverse is of the nature of one indivisible, Then, what prevents the acceptance of things with limbs? If it is said that because it is focused on multiple parts, the existence of one substance is negated, then the appearance of diversity is also negated because it is focused on multiple parts, so the existence of one indivisible consciousness is negated. Second, if multiple indivisible objects truly exist in multiple consciousnesses, since one mind does not fail to grasp multiple particles, the gross appearance would not exist. Second, those who say that mind-only is without aspects believe in these five bases as follows: all sounds, meanings, and double moons, etc., do not exist in the nature of both meaning and mind, but appear as if fabricated. The appearance of the five faculties, the five objects, and the container world are not objects of consciousness and external objects, but appear because they are fabricated on the beginningless ignorance habit. Therefore, the basis of form is merely fabricated and false. The basis of mind and the basis of mental factors, and the aspects to be grasped are fabricated, and there is no single self. Like a pure crystal ball unstained by the impurities of aspects. The indivisible moment without directions, etc., is considered to arise later from the former ultimate reality. In this system too, because it does not accept that objects are multiple, and that appearance and consciousness are one entity, although there is no system where the number of consciousnesses is infinite, However, the belief in six, eight, or one consciousness is like the aspect-possessing school. The belief that mind and mental factors are one entity or different entities is also like the former. Non-associated formations and unconditioned phenomena are also in accordance with the views of the aspect-possessing school. Although this text is slightly superior to the aspect-possessing school, it is still not correct and needs to be refuted.

There are two refutations: it is unreasonable to say that form and other things do not exist as entities, and it is unreasonable to say that indivisible consciousness is not a truly existent entity. The first refutation is, if form and other things do not exist as entities, then how can happiness and suffering be established as entities? If something is an entity because it can perform a function, then why isn't fire, which can perform the function of burning, an entity? If, as stated when refuting the Vaibhashikas, the division of parts negates that external objects are entities, then happiness and suffering will also be negated as entities by the division of time. Therefore, even if they are not truly existent entities, just as appearances are like reflections, happiness and suffering exist as conventionally existent entities. Similarly, it is reasonable that form and other things appear as external objects in conventional truth, like a dream. If external objects are false in the face of consciousness and there is nothing other than the inner self, then taking and abandoning samsara, nirvana, happiness, and suffering would also be unreasonable. The second refutation is, if consciousness is an indivisible moment, then it will be unrelated to the past and future. If this is accepted, it will become causeless, so it will not cease at times, and because it does not produce results, it will become ineffective. Therefore, whether it is with or without aspects, your acceptance that the non-dual grasping and apprehended consciousness is true in ultimate truth and exists in conventional truth is also unreasonable. Because, at one time, for one mind-essence, the knowable and the knower are two contradictory substances. Therefore, it is impossible for oneself to know oneself, just as a sword cannot cut or touch its own tip. As it says in the Noble Lankavatara Sutra: For example, a sword cannot touch or cut itself. Similarly, consciousness itself cannot know itself. If you say that it is self-awareness because past consciousness can know present consciousness, that is not correct. When past consciousness knows present consciousness, does the past object exist or not? If it exists, it will become a permanent entity, because when present consciousness exists, the past object exists without ceasing. If it does not exist, then because it does not exist, knowledge also does not exist, because there is no object to be known. If you say that it is self-awareness because self-awareness arises, that is also not correct. When self-awareness arises, does it depend on other-awareness or not? If it depends, then consciousness
