These are. There are three types of accumulation paths: small, medium, and large. The small one refers to: starting to enter the cause of attaining Buddhahood, the beginning of three great asamkhyeya kalpas, the time of cultivating the four mindfulnesses, and the time when the joining path arises is uncertain. As stated in the Compendium of Mahayana, "Those with the power of goodness and aspiration, with steadfast minds and excellent conduct, countless and immeasurable Bodhisattvas, are said to constantly strive in this way." The medium one refers to: the time of cultivating the four right abandonments, when the joining path is certain to arise in the next life or even later. The large one refers to: the time of cultivating the four legs of miraculous power, when the joining path is certain to arise in this very life. Among the five distinguishing dharmas, the distinguishing feature of the antidote is: regarding contaminated conditioned phenomena as faults, it is the antidote that can refute them. The distinguishing feature of abandonment is: having seen the faults of contaminated conditioned phenomena, one abandons manifest attachment. The distinguishing feature of realization is: with the wisdom of hearing and thinking, one realizes the two selflessnesses, mostly realizing in the manner of general meaning, and there is also realization arising from meditation, as stated in the Compendium of Topics, "Wisdom arising from meditation is also acceptable." The distinguishing feature of qualities is: because the mind is workable, one has grasped the beginning of the path to enlightenment, and the mind abides in samadhi, tranquility, and insight, and so on. Through this power, one can obtain clairvoyance and supernormal powers, and it is said that one can hear instructions from the emanation body of the Buddha, as stated in the Ornament of the Sutras, "At that time, from the stream of Dharma, in order to obtain the tranquility of the Buddhas, and vast wisdom, one travels in all the world realms. There one perfects all the accumulations, and also obtains vast instructions." The distinguishing feature of the instructions to be cultivated has two aspects: general and specific. First, in general, in all three accumulation paths, the discipline of focusing on the movement of body and speech, and the three wisdoms of hearing, thinking, and meditating, focusing on the words and meanings of the scriptures, as well as the four seals of Dharma, the five factors conducive to liberation, and the mindfulness of the Buddha, Dharma, Sangha, discipline, generosity, body, death, birth, and the movement of breath in and out. The method of cultivating the four seals is after generating Bodhicitta.

Dedication is done after contemplating that all compounded things are impermanent, that samsara, which is of the nature of defilement, is suffering, that all phenomena are without self, and that nirvana is peace. Similarly, one should contemplate the impermanence of one's own and others' lives and remember death, as well as the nine unclean perceptions of the body, the eight great thoughts of a great being, and the completely pure sphere of activity. Among these, the method of purifying actions is to contemplate the common antidote to the three poisons. As it is said in the "Question of Sagacious Arm": "When desire is strong, reverse it by looking at the impure flesh and fat, skin, bones and skeletons. Subdue hatred with the water of love and compassion. For delusion, use the path of dependent origination." Thus it is. The nine impure perceptions are: contemplating a corpse as swollen, eaten by worms, red, blue, black, consumed, scattered, burned, and decayed. The eight great thoughts of a great being are: When will I be able to eliminate the suffering of sentient beings? When will I be able to place sentient beings threatened by poverty in great wealth? When will I be able to benefit sentient beings with this body of flesh and blood? When will I be able to benefit sentient beings even by dwelling in hell for a long time? When will I be able to fulfill the hopes of sentient beings with great worldly and transmundane wealth? When will I be able to definitely liberate sentient beings from suffering after becoming a Buddha? May I never be born in all my lifetimes as a life that is not beneficial to sentient beings, nor enjoy meaningless pleasures, nor speak words that do not satisfy all beings, nor possess a life, body, wisdom, wealth, and power that are not beneficial to others, nor delight in harming others. May the painful results of sentient beings ripen upon me, and may my virtuous results ripen upon them. As it is said in the scriptures and commentaries. The completely pure sphere of activity is as it is said in the "Ornament of the Sutras": When a bodhisattva acts, whatever kind of sense consciousness arises, he benefits sentient beings with corresponding intelligence and pleasing words.
