And, the means to enlightenment, corresponding Dharma, compassion, insight, Dharani, fearlessness, the joyous feast of Dharma, the one and only path, possessing the Dharmakaya, thus it is said. Among them, the first three are the three of the path of accumulation. The path of application is in the path of application. The ten from generosity to wisdom are the ten bhumis. The five from clairvoyance to Dharani and fearlessness are the three pure bhumis. The latter three exist in the application of the ten bhumis and the three of the main practice and subsequent practice. Among them, the generation of bodhicitta obtained through the rite of commitment exists in the path of learning, but not in the Buddha-bhumi. It should be known that the activity performed by the great compassion, the bodhicitta free from obscurations, exists in the Buddha-bhumi. There are seven meanings for each, among them, the meaning of aspiration and engagement is: aspiring with the intention of benefiting others is like wanting to go, it is the aspiration bodhicitta. Practicing with action is like going, it is the engagement bodhicitta. As it says in the Bodhisattvacaryāvatāra: "What difference is there between wanting to go and going? Just as the wise know, they should distinguish the order accordingly." Thus it is said. The meaning of the three trainings is: restraining one's mind from the side of non-virtue is discipline. Increasing virtue such as meditation is mind. Accomplishing the two benefits and distinguishing what is to be known is the training of wisdom. The meaning of the stages is: when practicing with faith in the general object with faith, when seeing a part with faith, it is pure superior intention. When pure realms and so on are obtained, it is the ripening. Thus, when suchness is free from all obscurations, it is called the bodhicitta of abandoning obscurations. The meaning of the five paths is: at the beginning, mainly practicing hearing, thinking, and accumulating merit, it is the path of accumulation. Combining non-conceptual wisdom with the path of seeing is the path of application. Directly realizing the nature of reality is the path of seeing. After seeing, practicing is the path of meditation. When practice reaches the ultimate, there is no need to practice, it is called the path of no more learning. The meaning of the six perfections is: giving wealth to others without stinginess is generosity. Guarding one's mind from evil deeds is discipline. Subduing anger with patience is patience. Rejoicing in virtue is diligence. Focusing one-pointedly on one object is meditation.

Now, understanding the nature of Dharma is wisdom. Regarding the meaning of understanding it through the example of boundaries, schools such as the Tooth-Wisdom group believe that all aspirations of the worldly path and the arising of the mind up to the stage of seeing truth should be included. Some schools, such as the Abhidharma, believe that the aspiration of the mind in the path of accumulation, namely the small, medium, and large aspirations, should be included, and they believe that all nineteen of the path of preparation should be included. Due to the differences in intention and so on, there are three types of aspiration mind. The entering mind is considered to be nineteen types. So it is said. Like the ocean cloud and so on, those who have not generated the mind of wanting to attain enlightenment are aspiring, and those who have generated the mind of wanting to enter the practice, and so on, are many, but here, wanting to attain enlightenment for the benefit of others is aspiration, and entering through pervasive application is entering the practice, meaning that the essence is the same but the emphasis is different. Secondly, the cause is the faith of desire focused on the Buddha, the compassion focused on sentient beings, and the arising from hearing the benefits of the mind of enlightenment. As stated in the Ornament of the Sutras: The power of friends, the power of causes, and the power of roots, the power of hearing, and the habituation of virtue give rise to the unstable and the stable, the mind generation taught by others. So it is said. Also, as stated in the Jewel Cloud Sutra: Having faith in the Victorious One and the Dharma of the Victorious One, having faith in the unsurpassed enlightenment, if one has faith in the conduct of the Buddha's children, then the wise will generate the mind. So it is said. There are two fruits: temporary and ultimate. The first has five, namely, the greatness of conduct. As stated in the Ornament of the Sutras: The wise and excellent mind, even in the moment of arising, also greatly restrains the mind from endless sinful actions, the two increase, therefore always doing good, loving joy in happiness and suffering. So it is said. That is, for the sake of others, I have done difficult things, and I rejoice in the happiness of others, and I rejoice in the suffering caused by enduring difficult practices. Obtaining a name that matches its meaning, as stated in the Engaging in Bodhisattva Deeds: In the moment of generating the mind of enlightenment, those who are bound in the prison of samsara, are called the sons of the Sugatas, and the gods and humans of the world should pay homage. So it is said. All desired meanings are accomplished, as stated in the Flower Adornment Sutra: O sons of the Buddhas
