The signs of, and the qualities. First, in the Sutra of the Garland of Jewels, it says, "The Tathagatagarbha pervades all beings." Also, in the Uttaratantra, it says, "The complete Buddha body is radiant, and because Suchness is without distinction, and because there is lineage, all sentient beings constantly possess the essence of the Buddha." These are the signs (of the lineage). There are two signs of lineage, the sign of not being awakened, in the Uttaratantra it says, "If there were no Buddha-dhatu, one would not be weary of suffering, and there would be no desire or aspiration for Nirvana." Like some inferior people. The sign of being awakened, in the Uttaratantra it says, "Seeing the faults and merits of suffering and happiness in samsara and nirvana, this is because of having lineage, those without lineage do not have it." These two are in the Ornament of the Sutras, "Some do not have the virtues that are in accordance with liberation, and having weak white roots is also without cause." This shows that it is not exhausted and temporarily cut off. Before practice, compassion, as well as faith and patience, and the proper conduct of virtue, are correctly proclaimed as signs of lineage, which shows awakening. The qualities are, because it far surpasses the Hinayana, it is shown to be supreme, in the Uttaratantra it says, "The qualities are extremely vast, for the sake of growing the Bodhi tree, for the sake of obtaining the peace of great happiness and suffering, for the sake of benefiting oneself and others as a result, the supreme lineage is like a good root." This is also according to the Indian pronunciation, translating "Gotra" as "Guna" is quality, translating "Tratar" is salvation, relying on quality as the basis to cross to the other shore of samsara, in the Uttaratantra it says, "Quality, should be understood as the meaning of salvation." Third, the detailed distinctions are three, distinguishing from the perspective of the support and the supported, distinguishing from the perspective of the state, and distinguishing from the perspective of metaphor and meaning. First, in the Ornament of the Sutras it says, "Nature and growth, etc., are the support and the supported, the existence or non-existence of self and qualities, should be understood as the meaning of salvation." Therefore, the previously mentioned all-pervading light is explained as two from the perspective of appearance and emptiness, the emptiness of the Dharmadhatu is the inseparable cause of the Dharmakaya Svabhavikakaya, is the support, the wisdom appearance self-light has marks and signs

It is the support, abiding in the state of separation of the two form bodies. As the Uttaratantra states: "Like a treasure and a fruit-bearing tree, these two lineages should be known. The beginningless, naturally abiding one, and the perfectly acquired one. From these two lineages, one wishes to attain the three bodies of the Buddha. The first body is the first, and the second is the latter two. The essence body is beautiful, it should be known as like a precious statue. Because it is not made by nature, the qualities are like a treasure of jewels. Because it possesses great Dharma and great royal power, the enjoyment is like a wheel-turning king. Because of the nature of the image, the emanation is like a golden statue." Thus it is. It is also divided into the naturally abiding lineage and the perfectly acquired lineage, divided into two types by the difference between the ground and the path. When the nature of the Dharmadhatu pervades and abides in all grounds, the part of the manifesting ground Dharmadhatu is like a treasure of precious jewels, like the ground where whatever is desired arises, and in reality, it is not lacking in anything. The Dharmakaya, the essence body's Dharmadhatu, is established as the opening of the door for the manifestation of body and wisdom. The part of the manifesting wisdom light, wisdom and body, is due to the power of being free from obstacles, and from the part where the qualities inherent in oneself are bound to manifest, it is spoken of with the example of a fruit-bearing tree growing upwards. The pure cause is established with the name of the pure effect. The Sutra Ornament states: "The lineage of gold and precious jewels are spoken of as excellent examples." Incidentally, if we speak as when studying on the path, both of the Dharmadhatu lineages are naturally spontaneously accomplished, so they are called the nature lineage and abide as the support. On top of that, from the arising of the initial mind to the end of the ten bhumis, everything that is encompassed by the two accumulations of merit and wisdom is called the perfectly acquired or increasing lineage. That virtue is also the antidote of newly acquired ones, and by the power of removing the defilements of the nature lineage, it is to show that the qualities inherent in oneself are born as new.
